1. Welcome to OTRfed.com. All fed announcements and stat keeping will be kept here. -------------------- Champions OTR World Champion TBA -------------------- Superstars Ajay Record: 0-0 A-Zim Record: 0-0 The Fish Record: 0-0 Jae Record: 0-0 Jon Wyld Record: 0-0 Luke Valentine Record: 0-0 Slava Record: 0-0 Vincent Record: 0-0 -------------------- Upcoming Pay Per Views Gold Rush TBA
2. What do those stand for? I dno, I thought making it something like OTR would be a good idea. I'm open to anymore.
3. The overtime game between the Heat and Celtics early on in the season when Rondo had that sick play to keep the Celtics in the game was a sick game. Also that Game 6 and Game 3 between OKC/LAL got me really into the game. Usually hard for me to get into a game the Cavs aren't involved it.
4. For character rep, I did Shelton Benjamin. He's my favorite wrestler and is very skilled in the ring. If you want to have LeBron as your rep because he promotes himself and wins a lot or because he's your favorite athlete. If you want to use Tom Cruise because he's your favorite actor. Just pick a noticeable celebrity that you like and want to represent in this. Just for graphical purposes so people can put a face to the name if you know what I mean. Like when I make the ppv posters, etc..
5. I still don't see what the Knicks have the Hornets want. CP3 is a franchise player just entering his prime, so if you don't get a lot back to truly help your team's future then I don't know how the Knicks could make this happen. Anthony Randolph? Curry's contract? I don't know if that's enough. The Magic can offer Jameer, Vince, Gortat, Rashard, etc.
6. I'll wait for one more so we have 8 and I'll make a card. Also if you guys could look over your posts in this thread because some things like your character reps are left out. If you want a tron for your intro you'll need a rep so I can make a graphic for your intro using that rep. Great job so far.
7. Guys we need to be a little more organized. Maybe make a thread for your promos so we can find them and if you want to respond to a promo you can post in that thread. And also try and make it so you are in character, but in threads like these you can be out of character. Just so everyone can find promos easier. Also, if anyone is interested in writing the shows with me, please pm me. And Over The Ropes Wrestling is PERFECT Stat. Thank you very much.
8. For all of you who have signed up, I'd like to say welcome! After a few more people sign up, I'll post the first card. We'll open up the whole thing with a paper view. The whole event will be a tournament and the tournament will begin and end at this paper view. This tournament will determine who is the champion of the fed. Then we'll start the weekly shows, etc.. So firstly, I'd like all of you guys in the fed to suggest a name that we can call this organization. Something catchy that incorporate OTR and wrestling somehow? And if you also want to suggest a weekly show name. My plan is that we can all have at least one promo in and I'll post one soon to set an example so you guys know what this is like. It may be nice to promote yourself as a marketable wrestler and introduce your background in your first promo. As well as call out other wrestlers. Thank you for reading, and I plan on this being a success, so trust me and stay with me here.
9. Name: A-Zim Height: 6'2" Weight: 210 lbs. Hometown: Akron, Ohio Nicknames: The Entertainer Theme Music: Burn in My Light by Mercy Drive Gimmick: Young blue chipper looking to make an impact. Manager: None Wrestling Style: Can do some mat wrestling, but overall an athletic, up tempo wrestler who likes to stay in the ring. Not a big risk taker but has it in him in big moments. Character Rep (A celebrity that you want to represent you, be it a wrestler, musician, actor, etc.): Shelton Benjamin Description of Entrance: The lights go out. "Burn in My Light" by Mercy Drive suddenly goes off and blue fireworks and out comes A-Zim. He hops around to get his blood flowing before walking down the entrance ramp. He high fives a few fans and slides into the ring under the bottom ropes. After a pose on the top turnbuckle, he descends back to the mat. Moveset: (For a list of moves w/descriptions, visit http://www.deathvalleydriver.com/bbbowm/bbbowm.htm ) Will edit tomorrow - Up To 15 Grappling Moves (Scoop slam, drop kick, spring board moonsault) - Up To 2 Submission Holds (Single Crab Leg Lock) - Up To 2 Rest Holds (Sleeper Hold) - Up To 2 Set-Up Moves (Showtime - DDT) - Up To 3 Finishing Moves (Lights Out - Sit Down Power Bomb)
10. Guys, for the name, it's the superstar name. So for Dwayne Johnson, you'd put The Rock as his name. Do you want those first names to be the name of your wrestler? Just checking. Good job guys. I'd say 4 sign ups in a day including me in half a day is good progress for now. Some of you guys need to enter your character reps as well.
11. Credit Wikipedia to some of this. Basically, this is like a NBA sim league on here. However, you control a team in the NBA sim leagues whereas in e-feds you control a wrestler. EFeds operate using a number of different systems. The most prominent system is through roleplaying, where competitors will post pieces of creative writing with the producer of the best piece being named the victor. There are many different styles of roleplays used, ranging from extensive dialogue, "shoot" pieces, scripted and structured, novelic-style stories. There are often limits and deadlines associated with these types of promotions. Angle (or storyline orientated) promotions focus only on angles/storylines/plots involving the handlers. These promotions require competitors to manage numerous aspects of their angles, constantly adding ideas and interviews with the most interesting and well planned of angles determining the winner. Writers will construct the storylines, and based on the activity of your superstar determines the heights one can reach as this thing plays out. There will be weekly shows and monthly paper views. As one of the writers and superstars in this, I will say that these shows will have fully written matches and commentary. Reading the shows and seeing how your superstar plays out will be rewarding for all of the hard work you put into your promos, etc. This will start fairly simple, but as we delve into it, superstars can begin interesting feuds based on how well the storylines and gimmicks generated from their role playing techniques are. Ask any questions in here please.
12. Copy this template and follow it and post your wrestler in this thread. Name: Height: Weight: Hometown: Nicknames: Theme Music: Gimmick: Manager: Wrestling Style: Character Rep (A celebrity that you want to represent you, be it a wrestler, musician, actor, etc.): Description of Entrance: Moveset: (For a list of moves w/descriptions, visit http://www.deathvalleydriver.com/bbbowm/bbbowm.htm ) - Up To 15 Grappling Moves - Up To 2 Submission Holds - Up To 2 Rest Holds - Up To 2 Set-Up Moves - Up To 3 Finishing Moves
13. Thanks. A sign-up thread and rules thread will be up by the end of tonight probably. Should be interesting!
14. I had to turn on a hose for a car wash my class council had at Chili's. To do that, I had to go back to the garbage area where all the disgusting trash is, and it smelled so bad. It's inexplicable.
15. ACT is much easier, at least for me. I took it three times. First two times I got the same score, then the third time I got a +3 improvement. You have to grind through it and stay focused the whole time. It's hard for me to get everything done in the set time so that's pretty much the only thing I had to overcome. I took the writing all three times as well and did pretty good on that. I took SAT classes to prepare for the SAT and took my first and only SAT before any of the ACTs I took. I did terrible on the SAT in comparison to the ACT. Too many sections for me.
16. Buzz Bissinger, the guy who wrote LBJ's book that came out last year, is always having twitter rants and ripping on LeBron. Maverick Carter even emailed him about having to stop ripping LeBron because it's annoying them.
17. Dude Pau is the best all-around big man in the NBA right now. I'm sure Marc Gasol could reach the all-star game in a year or two but not all-nba caliber. At least that's what I see so far. And is top 6 in a growing western conference that great?
18. RD, can you make a sub forum and we'll see if people sign up? I can make the threads and stuff to sign up and explain this. And CaliCurb, I think it may be better to have create your own gimmick/wrestler, but be able to pick a wrestler for your tron and general look a like. It adds more originality and I find that more people who wouldn't do an e-fed do it if they can create a character. I know it may be odd for a basketball forum, but I'm not on any other forums really anymore and I know there's a few fans of wrestling new and old so we'll see where this goes.
19. I think the rep is fine. The rep is a look at a person's total contribution to the forums.
20. I mean we could do real, but I always did it where people make their own gimmick, wrestling moves, and pick a wrestler for what they look like. I'd make titan trons for each wrestler and ppv graphics as part of the show, so no worries there.
21. Maybe like 3 more? We got what, 4 so far with me, Stat, CaliCurb and Sun Tzu. And a lot of people join forums with e-fed, so this would be good for promotional purposes.
22. I have written before but if someone else wanted to help a bit in the writing that'd be fine. If a few other people offer their two cents in a positive way, maybe we could have a sign up thread.
23. I don't know if there are enough wrestling fans on here or not, but I think this is a cool thing to have on a forum. An e-fed is where each user signs up creates their own wrestler and they cut promos and form teams with other members. Then the writer writes out the weekly shows and paper views, and based on how well written the promos are and how active members are, that determines if they win or lose, or advance to bigger things. Would anyone be interested in this?
24. Does this mean that those rosters are only viewable for when you try to accomplish a moment? Or can you play with these teams as the user in regular/online games?
