  1. It's Hue Jackson's team now, in my opinion. Al Davis reportedly loves the way Hue coaches, and he's a perfect fit to take the Raiders to the next level. He fixed the running game immensely and the line actually played better then they did under a guy who was an offensive line coach in the first place (Cable). He's ready for a head coaching job. There comes a time where you need to make a move to help your team get better. Cable's put them in a good position to win, and now it's Hue's turn to turn them into a playoff team, which I fully believe he can do.
  2. If Harbaugh's gone, you may as well send Luck to the advisory committee so he can file his paperwork. The two go hand in hand and you don't want another Jake Locker situation on your hands. That being said, I love what I see out of Luck and he is by far the best quarterback prospect I've had the pleasure of scouting in my short time doing this, around four years. I've watched a bit of Manning stuff and I'd say Luck is very close to the level of Manning. He orchestrates that offense to a tee. He gets incredible protection, a good running game and good receivers but he makes it work. He can take off, throw on the run, throw the deep ball with great accuracy and has a full grasp on an NFL offense. That is not something to be taken lightly. He'll get good protection in Carolina once that line gets healthy in the offseason and a tremendous running game, so there's no reason his success can't be continued at a collegiate level.
  3. WIth the 1-gap system Wade runs, I don't think Mario would be a rush linebacker, I actually think he'd be a down lineman at right end. He would actually probably fill something close to Jay Ratliff's role. Mario's size range is just outside that of a 30 front lineman as well. It could work, but I don't see the real fit in the 34 for Mario. You've got Okoye and Antonio Smith to play the other ends, and they're in the position to grab a Robert Quinn or Aldon Smith type player to play one OLB spot. I'm assuming Shaun Cody would play the Nose. Cushing and Ryans inside with Diles and Adibi rotating. They need some outside linebackers to make it work though. And they also need a revamp in the secondary. A new corner and free safety combo. It'd be a tough transition but it could work.
  4. Canada is dominating the Americans right now.
  5. I'll go off the board a little bit - give me Green Bay and Kansas City.
  6. What have been your scores and stats? Are they realistic? I've got an awesome set of sliders right now, but I feel the running game may be overpowered a tiny bit, so I'm willing to try yours out if they yield me some realistic results.
  7. Probably a) Plays as the QB until he leaves and Gardener comes in b) Splits time with Gardener (Two QB System, think Leak/Tebow) c) Running back d) Transfer
  8. I think his best move would be Michigan. He'd be an instant celebrity, would bring needed credibility back to the program (especially offensively, it was clear Michigan was never going to go anywhere with that terrible version of the spread Rich Rod runs. Get back to the I-Form, run the ball down their throats and give them a healthy dosage of Devin Gardener, and the Wolverines will be just fine. It'd help if they can re-secure the commitment of Dee Hart, he instantly makes them better.
  9. Cm'on GG! Get with the program! don't you guys watch trailer park boys

  11. I'm about 90% sure they changed this year about two years ago. On ESPN's "sports design" page they mentioned something about it when the guy blogged about Orlando's new throwbacks. I'll try to find a link.
  12. Hopefully Jake Locker can rid some of his demons as he gets another crack at that punishing Husker defense. It's possible, but I doubt it. I still love him as a draft prospect but he should've left when he had the chance last year.
  13. He could get in right now? What are you smoking? There's a reason guys like Cris Carter, Roger Craig, Tim Brown, Chris Doleman aren't in right now. Why isn't Brian Mitchell in the Hall of Fame? Because you don't put guys like Brian Mitchell in the Hall of Fame. As low as the standards are right now, Devin Hester wouldn't even sniff the Hall of Fame. It's such a prestigious honor you don't have time to induct a player like Devin Hester. At the same time, we may as well induct Dante Hall, he was good for a couple years, right? Why don't we elect Lorenzo Neal at the same time for how much he did for the fullback position? Are we going to induct Mike Vanderjagt? He was automatic for almost two years! There's a reason you don't put guys like Devin Hester in the Hall of Fame.
  14. He's pretty much the only scoring threat we have right now besides Ryan Ellis, who is a defensemen. So the forwards are essentially useless and are composed of a bunch of grinders. We need Louis Leblanc to step up, Jaden Schwartz to come back healthy and we need some scoring from guys like Hamilton, Eakin, etc.
  15. It's clear you guys were flat, that's a long layoff, but I was hoping for a bit of a closer game. I don't think it's the measuring stick game everyone here in Vancouver wanted, but a win is a win. Ryan Kesler and the Sedin's were great again, they really carry this team. I'd love to see a Philly/Vancouver Stanley Cup Finals though, if you can get goaltending sorted out you guys should be there.
  16. Oh lawd, it looks like the likes of Brian Waters, Adrian Wilson and Vontae Leach made it too. LOL. Talk about a popularity contest. Where are the likes of Tramon Williams, Lawrence Vickers, or Mike Wallace? Hell, where is Josh Freeman even? Much more deserving then Ryan (maybe not Rodgers but you get the jist of it)
  17. Brandon Meriweather made the Pro Bowl this year? Enough said.
  18. It's not like Brady was that much better this week, against a far inferior opponent. He was very pedestrian, just like Vick. I don't see your point.
  19. He probably told Troy Smith that he was making too many mistakes, but if he stopped making those mistakes, Troy Smith would be a 12-win football team.
  20. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/12/27/niners-fire-singletary/ Good riddance. One of the worst coaches I've ever seen in the past decade.
  21. Canada has looked awful so far in this game, regardless of the score and didn't impress me in either of the 3 games they played before hand. They will get nothing better then third this year.
  22. http://brophyfootball.blogspot.com/2010/12/battle-of-boards-auburn-oregon.html A look into Oregon's high speed, no huddle offense. They use boards to creatively call their plays at the line, and it obviously works. Auburn also does a variation of this, but revert more to numbers then the images that Oregon uses. This basically gives you an in depth look at it. If you want, bookmark this site as well, as he's a great understander of the game, he just gets it. Very respected and he's one of the few that actually formulates an opinion through watching film.
  23. Anything I find on the web from time to time I'll post up here to both share with you football fans and help educate and allow people to learn more about schemes, concepts, formations, etc. Both offense and defense. Feel free to share your own stuff as well, anything is useful in this thread. I'll start it off with some Dana Holgorsen stuff. Hologorsen was just hired at WVU as the next head coach, but led the number one offense in the country in Oklahoma State. Holgorsen is an advocate of Mike Leach's air raid offense, but is more about stretching the defense and attacking vertical lanes. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=5787109
  24. It will be. I have nothing against Perry Jones, he's a fantastic player and a legit NBA talent, but there is no way he should ranked number one on some of the draft publications I visit. Neither should Harrison Barnes. The only way it gets even a little better is you have to hope guys like Derrick Williams, Honeycutt, CJ Leslie, Terrence Jones - players like that - improve immensely and make having those top ten picks valuable and mean something.
