Still have to say either Marcus Dupree's story, Pony Exce$$, The U and the Reggie Miller one. I love every single one though, they're all fantastic. It's a must buy for any sports fans.

Golden State at Sacramento
The Great iBoldin replied to Real Deal's topic in Sacramento Kings Team Forum
One of the worst games I've watched in awhile, candidate for worst of the year thus far. Lay ups were being missed quite frequently and the defense was just terrible. It was painful to watch. -
This ^ as mentioned before, lol. I'll even make you a sig ECN!

On the first page alone, there is a 13 page thread on why the Penguins should trade Evgeni, a thread posing the question why Pittsburgh traded Markus Naslund (lol), and a boatload of Winter Classic threads. I have seen absolutely nothing suggesting Crosby isn't the player Malkin is and I've gone through four pages worth of threads. I doubt I'll find it. HFBoards are filled with fairweather fans and armchair GM's who cannot make conscious decisions about what way they feel their team is. PK time =/= better defensively. Jeff Tambellini got a great amount of PK time tonight for the Canucks and he can't play defense if his life depended on it. Henrik Sedin doesn't seen a lot of time on the penalty kill, are we to say that Henrik isn't a good defensive player? No, penalty kill time and defense don't correlate. You're arguing puck handling skills? Really? C'mon, lol. Give me something better to work with then [expletive]ing puck handling skills. That's so arbitrary and irrelevant. Crosby must have some decent puck skills too, he lead the Pens last year with 58 of them, alongside 50 goals. I think his shot is okay too, then. Can you give me something more concrete, such as better hockey IQ, more awareness in general, goal scoring, assists, tenacity and leadership? Forechecking, the ability to take over a game, make something happen out of nothing, fight, hit? Anything? No, you can't. Because it's simple; Sidney Crosby is a better hockey player and has oodles more talent then Malkin. It's not even close. Ask any hockey mind in the actual business of hockey and they'll tell you the same thing.
-
No, he's not. Part of being "on your game" and having skill is using it every night, which Crosby has done for an extended period of time, over several season - regular season or playoffs - and Malkin simply hasn't done. Crosby is much more talented. He does way more things on the ice. He backchecks harder, he has a higher sense of hockey IQ, he goes to play every shift and he's arguably one of the top two-way forwards in the league, a prestigious group. Pure skill doesn't mean anything when, stacked up in comparison to another player, you're not producing at the same clip and you aren't as big of a clog that makes the team go as the other player. I don't see how you can correlate that Malkin has more talent and skill when Crosby is better at virtually everything, give or take a few arguable points. I just don't see it. And sure, I'll sig bet. At least we'll get rid of that of that asinine suggestion that Ilya Kovalchuk is the best player in the game.

Malkin has been marred with inconsistency throughout his career. He can't play without the puck, he doesn't like playing defense (atypical of most Russians) and he doesn't have the will or the mental capacity to snap out of long slumps. Crosby is not just playing out of his mind this year, he's been doing it for over two years now. He's outscored Malkin in all but two years (one the injury season where Crosby played 53 games). He's a better leader, he's clearly the best player in the NHL. I don't see how you take a center with leadership qualities and everything Crosby is about over a guy who may or may not explode at a given time. Malkin's play in the playoffs last year was inexplicably terrible, too.

Evgeni Malkin is a great player, but he's nowhere near the player Sidney Crosby is. http://www.wowheylook.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/Cmon-Tyrone.jpeg

What a pitiful angle by Madieu Williams. He was so solid in Cincinnati but regressed so much. He's cutable after that porous display.
-
Unfortunate play for Minnesota, but a good play by Henry Melton. For a converted running back, he does quite well for himself at the left end position.

Toby Gerhart and Peyton Hillis - providing hope for all white running backs across America.

WK15: Green Bay @ New England
The Great iBoldin replied to Real Deal's topic in NFL Gameday Archives
I just did it using a calculator lol, the only thing that would be inaccurate is the completion percentage. Everything else including stats, touchdowns and interceptions would be correct. Again, as LKR and some others have said, strength of schedule gets thrown out the window because it's an uncontrollable variable. You can't create who you play against. It has absolutely no bearing on who you play against, because both teams are two of the top five teams in the NFL right now. It matters when arguing examples such as power rankings, but personal performance is unrelated to what teams you play. Vick would've run rampant over a terrible Washington defense, a terrible Tennessee defense, and a terrible San Francisco defense. Kevin Kolb helped put up 31 points over Atlanta, so it's very likely Vick's numbers would've received some sort of boost. But we're arguing semantics, it doesn't really matter. I happen to think Brady will win the MVP, I was just providing some stats that Vick would've had if he played 16 games. Unfortunately, you can't control that at all due to Vick's playing style. -

It's a flaw in how I did the calculations (completion percentage wise), which I should've mentioned. It would go up with more attempts. It'd probably stay the same, maybe go up a little. Also, it's easy for QB ratings to fluctuate. Vick's rating was around 107 a few weeks ago. That could explain it. -

I quickly pro-rated Vick's stats over a 16 game stretch to compare with Brady's. If he kept up with his pace, he would have 4408 passing yards, 32 touchdowns with 13 on the ground. He'd have thrown a 72% completion percentage, thrown 8 interceptions and 275.3 yards/game with 526 attempts on the season and a 105 QB rating. These stats over 16 games (assuming Brady also plays 16 games) would be better in the yards/game, yards on average, rushing touchdowns and completion percentage. Brady would have the better passing TD margin, less interceptions and a better QB rating. However, they are neck in neck in most of those categories. Some food for thought. -
It's Jay Cutler, you know?
The Great iBoldin replied to Real Deal's topic in NFC Conference Discussion
Yes. I don't know how many Interceptions he's had this year, but he's cut down on them and makes better decisions. Even with that patchwork line, he's putting Chicago in a position to win in a lot of games. He can also signify this improvement with the improvement of the Bears defense, who's probably been a top-five unit this year. I had Cutler in my top-ten Quarterbacks at the start of the year, I think I'd still have him at nine or ten. He makes careless decisions sometimes but his performance has been great this year. -
Interesting move by Milwaukee. I don't follow the Brewers too much, are they a push to make the playoffs this year? This coupled with Shawn Marcum could put that pitching staff in a position to put Milwaukee over the top into the playoffs, at least a Wild Card, would it not? For all the talk KC did about how they wanted an arm and a leg for Greinke, they sure didn't get an amazing return. A lot of teams could've made that offer. Good job for the Brewers.

Mike Singletary after the game will go along the lines of "mistakes killed us, if we didn't have so many mistakes we win the game. simple as that. you cut the mistakes we've been making and we're a 10 win football team. Sometimes breaks don't go our way. We'll keep working on cutting those mistakes down and we'll make a run at the playoffs. we just got to stop making so many cot dayum mistakes" -

Have Vincent Jackson sitting in about three of my leagues. Oh goodie. -
This is how Minnesota should be playing all of their games - outside. Bring it on. TCF Bank is also, structurally, a very nice stadium. One of my top ten favorites in College Football. It's new, but the design is awesome.

It looks as if Kirby Smart could be joining UF's staff as the Defensive Coordinator. Would be an excellent pick up. Muschamp at HC, Applewhite the OC and Smart running his own defense is an excellent triumvirate of young coaches that'd really help UF.

It's rare you see such a player grasp NFL coverage schemes and play at both a high physical and mental level that McCourty has been playing at, he's easily been a top five corner this season. He jams so well at the line and rarely is beat. He understands routes, it's clear he studies tape, I mean this kid is an absolute fantastic football player. His support in the run game, as ECN alluded to, is unreal for a rookie too. You see guys shying away (I'm looking at you, Mike Jenkins) from contact in the run game, but McCourty not only gets his nose dirty, he finishes his tackle and plays well to do so in open space. This guy will be a top-five cornerback overall by the end of next year if he keeps playing at the level he's playing at. He's absolutely fantastic.

Did anyone see Karlos Dansby's reaction to the trip? Something along of the lines of "come on man, come on.. just come on, come on man. come on man, this should be on Monday Night right? Wow.. come on. Come on man..."

Does/did Golden run a 3-4 at Temple? They're producing several 3-4 compatible players on defense, and a lot of them at that. Should be a good hire for Miami, hopefully he can recruit to the fullest and return the U back to a national power again. It's certainly a possibility.

It's safe to say that GSP has gotta be one of the best fighters in MMA right now, likely top three. I never thought once that he was in trouble last night, nor against fighters like Alves or Finch (I believe it was Finch he fought, maybe Fitch). He never took the fight to the ground because he never really needed to. He developed an against gameplan against Koscheck's looping rights and his wrestling abilities. His stick and move really confused and frustrated Josh. Some of those combos was ridiculous. Shields won't touch him either.

I think the only time you'd ever catch me wearing a hat is when I'm golfing, I just never got into the fad of it. Always wanted to, never did, neither did I ever get into wearing a watch. However, I really like that Rays hat, maybe if it had a curved bill, I dislike those flat bills.
