  1. And Brady got relentlessly smacked around by the Jets during the first game. Balances out. The Jets are a Super Bowl contending team. They have absolutely every critical personnel down to do so. Sanchez' progression is key, though.
  2. Send some of that Vancouver's way. But not too much, just enough to make it seem like the Olympics are actually here. Two days of snow ALL Winter and it didn't stuck. FML.
  3. They have Jabari Greer, their own shutdown corner. He's done it all year, just like Revis, but the Saints' defense isn't as heralded as the Jets' defense. They need to add a 15-sack per year defensive end, who can do what Freeney does for Indianapolis. Will Smith is great defensive end, to the extent of underrated, but Charles Grant is turrible and he definitely needs to be replaced. A guy like Greg Hardy at #32 could be beneficial.
  4. Super Bowl material is such a lightly based word right now. What's the criteria for such a term? I think the Bengals, Patriots, Cowboys, Giants and Eagles have a lot of work to build towards still before being considered. Based on this years play, only the Colts, Saints, Chargers and Vikings were the class of the NFL, and were really the only Super Bowl material-type teams. You have to divulge into this question in August, after free agency, after trades, after the Draft and a bit of the training camp reports. Can't answer the question right now.
  5. Great read by Tracy. He makes a great break on the ball. Sat on Reggie's route, excellent play. Always felt Porter was an excellent player, but now he gets the limelight. Good for him.
  6. Cool. Run the same play twice. This is exactly why New Orleans will never win the big game.
  7. Peyton is preparing the butthole plunging of the Saints defense. They simply aren't going to rattle him.
  8. I really don't think Tomlinson likes New England, there's been some bad blood between the two sides before. While I do agree the Pats need some infusion of talent at the running back position, BB may be settled with the stable he has. Maroney is a personal favorite of his, he still raves about him, and you can grab a guy like Ryan Mathews out of Fresno State in round four or Antonio Dixon.
  9. You know what you're gonna get out of Prust. He's gonna give you five minutes of hard work, forechecking, and gritty play. He's the epitome of a fourth-line player, but he really does play his heart out every shift, he can fight, he'll hit, he pots the occasional goal. It's a great deal for the Rangers. Jokinen and Prust were both very classy about the trade, and Jokinen said he plays for the sweater, not the namebar on the back. He gives the effort, he just blows - especially for whatever he's making.
  10. I think the Flames made a trigger happy move based on their recent losing skid. That being said, Dion was reportedly not well liked in the locker room, and he wasn't playing at a high level. He's a puke, he's a [expletive]ty player, and he's been put on a pedestal by Flames fans for a bunch of garbage play.
  11. Mark Ingram isn't eligible for the draft this year, and it says Cornelius Ingram under him. I'd put Ndamukong Suh, Gerald McCoy or CJ Spiller maybe instead. I'll desk this though, nice and simple.
  12. For draftniks or even the casual draft fan, the season is far from over. Senior Bowl started on Monday (Mt. Cody an astounding 370 pounds) and the East-West Shrine Game was last week. Combine is in February. Good time of the year for me, college basketball and the NHL as well.
  13. Except for Marion Barber couldn't execute a dive play or short yardage attempt to save his life. It's almost painful watching Dallas get a simple yard or so. About Tomlinson. No, I don't think he should retire, definitely not yet. Still some gas left in the tank.
  14. If anything, the Vikings should of won by two touchdowns. Mis timely fumbles and interceptions are apart of the game, New Orleans didn't capitalize on many of them. If the Vikes played mistake free football, they'd be celebrating right now.
  15. Good call on the PI. Porter had been turned around and had no idea where the ball was, contact was made. Easy decision.
  16. He was sticking up for himself. Why none of his teammates tried to help their star player go after the waste of cap space that is Carcillo is beyond me, but Carcillo went after Gaborik, gave him a face wash with his glove. What do you want the guy to do?
  17. I'm currently in progress of an in-depth, early season look at next year, including a Top25, especially now that the deadline has passed for underclassmen to declare for the draft. I'm going all out in my preparation for the NFL Draft, and the upcoming NCAA and NFL seasons. But, here's a quick look at my top five. It's heavily debatable. 1. Alabama 2. Ohio State 3. Boise State 4. Oregon 5. Texas Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Miami, Florida and TCU will all be considered for after these spots.
  18. Matt's had plenty of chances to succeed. He was a day one starter when Kurt was perceived as a terrible quarterback on the down spiral of his career. He blew that. He had a chance with the assorted injuries Kurt had. He blew those. He looked just terrible against Green Bay, and his only actual satisfactory game came against Tennessee, where he failed to put away the Titans in the fourth quarter, throwing awful pass after awful pass. If the Cardinals have a chance to pull the trigger on a guy like Bradford, if he falls, then I'd do it. Leinart's not the future.
  19. Bull it isn't an accomplishment. I don't care that he gets blasted for a perceived lack of trying, he's still a top flight receiver in the NFL. Wayne still played two and a half quarters with under 40 yards, so I don't know what you're trying to say. It's not like the Colts didn't play their starters at all. Ochocinco was top ten receiver this year, so once again I don't really get what you're trying to say. Here's some more. Steve Smith (Carolina) Mike Sims-Walker Marques Colston Roddy White Care to find some exploits in those receivers too?
  20. Don't be so blind. You know the decision process that goes into these awards. Completely irrelevant. Oh, and Clay Matthews says "hi". Debatable, but simply put, Revis shut down the likes of Randy Moss, Chad Ochocinco, Andre Johnson and Reggie Wayne. And he did it all year. He did more to opposing offenses then Woodson did. Pure cover corner. Yeah, sure. Whatever you say. Watch Vincent Jackson join Revis' Island's own "Under 35 yards" club.
  21. What does Steve Smith do that makes him so special? He's very invisible when I watch the Giants. Same with Burleson, a dime a dozen deep threat making double the money he deserves. Bess and Sims-Walker have already been mentioned, so here's three. Everyone's head of Jennings too. Keep in mind Finley's a tight end, so he doesn't really fit in this category. Steve Breaston. He does too much for the Cards offense to not be mentioned. He's twice the play Burleson is and plays in a smaller capacity. How about the actual underrated Packer receiver, James Jones? Excellent deep threat, plays underneath well. Sammie Stroughter, just a rookie, but man does he makes an impact on the Bucs roster. Great player.
  22. He rotated a fair bit, especially when Aaron Smith went down for the season. He was energetic, as his nickname would suggest. His technique isn't at an elite NFL level yet, but no one expected it to be. He gets by with a great motor and athletic ability. Swings his hips well and got into the opposing backfield quite a bit for a player of his caliber. He's a future starter at either end spot in LeBeau's 34, he can play either. May need to continue to bulk up, but that should be no problem. Hood's probably Aaron Smith's successor in two or three years. Until that time, he'll probably get increased snaps each season.
  23. He's a very average running back, and that's being generous. You need big plays from all over the field, and contributions from all over. Grant's YPC is average, he runs like an average running back, and all around he's no the player he's made out to be. And Brandon Jackson is not a reliable option. Pairing Best and Grant, especially in the Packers' ZBS? That's a very good tandem. Right now, there's not a lot of value for a corner besides Haden, and MAYBE Donovan Warren.
