  2. He did though. He's made Cincinnati into the jewel it is, bringing in a commendable base of recruits. Albeit, it's fairly easy to build for the spread, but nevertheless a great job. He's an excellent offensive coordinator, and his gameplans are top notch. He's a good hire for Notre Dame, but I think a defensive guy is possibly the better choice, but nothing you can do now.
  3. I didn't say McCoy was a better player then Suh, I said McCoy would be a much better 34 end, which he would be. I don't think either of them should be in the 34 at all, but if I had a choice it's McCoy.
  4. Eh.. Gerlad McCoy strikes me as a much better 34 end. Suh needs to be able to collapse the pocket to make his plays, and he's simply not a nose in the 34. Suh has no swing in his hips, as gay as that may sound.
  5. While Ndamukong Suh has all the abilities and the stats in college football, I don't exactly think that's going to translate into NFL dominance right away like everyone thinks. He dominates against interior lineman and he's getting all the double teams, but I honestly don't like something in Suh. It's something I see. Defensive Tackle is not a premium position, and rarely a number one overall pick. Is Suh that good to make such an impact right away? Who's more explosive, Suh or McCoy at the next level? Lack of lower body strengths is eventually what I think can hurt Suh. He's getting by with sloppy technique, and I think that'll take some time to refine. Don't expect him to come in and grab double digit sacks inside. This guy isn't Reggie White.
  6. B. Favre 20/32 166 5.2 1 2 60.2 A. Peterson 11 16 1.5 0 L. Fitzgerald 6 104 17.3 1 34 9 A. Boldin 7 98 14.0 2 39 9 Thanks for coming out Minnesota!
  7. That's a textbook blitz pick-up by Hightower. Beautiful.
  8. lol.. Anyways, this is vintage Anquan Boldin. He's been uncover able so far. I think that's catch number five and it's tied 7-7. Also love the big return from Breaston. He's been lighting it up the past couple of weeks as well. We look good so far, bouncing back from the fumble. And if we don't win, well the 49ers gave a win to hapless Seattle today, so we're still 2 games up. How about that ECN?
  9. Keenum threw 75 passes today. That's absolutely unbelievable.
  10. He could start for a team running a spread or air raid system, which is what he's in right now. The Chips still run some of the grassroots of Urban Meyer's offense as well, so it's neat to see LeFevour succeed. He's a mid-round pick right now, and a lesser known, more polished passing Tim Tebow. If Shanahan lands in Buffalo, then that's something to watch for.
  11. lolwut. @ Clemson @ Brigham Young Utah Virginia Clemson was a touchdown from a BCS bid. Utah was highly regarded and so was BYU. They destroyed both teams, and beat Clemson in their house. They dominated almost every team they faced. They have the individual talent and the skill level. They were better then Utah was last year.
  12. There aren't very many "good" teams this year. Pittsburgh was in the top ten for three or four weeks. West Virginia and the likes of those kind of teams kept creeping inside the top 25. Washington was even top 25. There were a lot of garbage teams this year.
  13. Carlos Dunlap is so overrated. He's had maybe two or three productive games this year, and I hardly see him taking over games when I watch Florida. For a man of his stature he should be in the backfield a lot more then he does. He's measurables, thats it. Even Michael Johnson was more productive then this guy. He's garbage.
  14. http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/08BxcHldAIfDB/439x.jpg Is the most underrated player in all of football. There is not very many players that mean more to a defense then Darnell Dockett does to the Arizona Cardinals. He was the leader of a defense that stopped the run the best for the first eight weeks, and he is such a dependable player, who always gets the job done. He breaks through the line for sacks, he penetrates and stays disciplined in his gaps, and he uses his exception length and bulk to get under lineman's pads. Discuss Darnell's dominance.
  15. This is such a huge game. Sean Canfield is a gamer for the Beavers and he has the ability to keep OSU in this football game. They have to be able to move the ball early on against the Ducks, an early score could be vital to the outcome of the game. Another gamebreaker Oregon State has is Jacquizz Rodgers. OSU runs a lot of fly sweeps, and he and James are both lethal out of that option type play. His speed is unparalleled by any Oregon defender, so if he can find the edge a couple of times it'll be easy for Oregon State to run play action of stretch and sweep plays. Back to Canfield. I really like the southpaw. He throws a good ball for the most part, and he has the weapons around him to succeed. His fit in the offense has taken off this season, and he's intriguing to some NFL scouts. I know a team like Minnesota will pull the trigger in the fourth round if he's there, he's someone you can really build around. Game manager with the ability to do more. He had an excellent game against USC, but he faces a more formidable defense that does a lot more things then USC did this year. Oregon needs to involve LaMichael James early, and the zone-read is going to be imperative for a W. Masoli needs to continue to read that DT and get big gains off of them. The Beavers like to play a little bit light along the front four, so that may even be easier for Masoli to get his blockers set up. The Ducks running game has had big days on OSU before. 2 years ago (maybe it was last year though) Jeremiah Johnson had 200 yards alone in the first half. Chip Kelly should know this, and I wouldn't be surprised if UO also uses some Blount. Right now I like Oregon, but tomorrow I could like Oregon State.
  16. No. They would still be a game behind, and the Cardinals won't drop two to the 49ers. Arizona is still very much in the driver's seat right now.
  17. I think it's a fair hire. You're giving a guy a chance to shine through in his coaching career, and he has done some creative things with Scott, Holliday, Hester, etc. going back a few years. He certainly helped Scott overcome his clumsy feet problem, and refined his technique hitting the hole. He's much lower in his pad level now. So I think it's a decent hire, all things considering.
  18. Took in the bum too many times through the air, that offensive line showing why they're still the number one unit in football. We did do a bit of a good job with Chris Johnson. He had that really nice run, captivated by a great Michael Roos block, for 85 yards, but outside of that he was 17 for 69 and no touchdowns. Obviously you want to be a bit better then that, but that's decent production from our defensive line unit. Give up a game, but we're still in sole possession of the division and San Francisco is too inferior to catch up.
  19. At school I'm in a basketball specific class for our ball program. It's just like a PE class geared towards training and playing ball for kids on the varsity teams. One of our assignments is to research a player who emulates a certain kind of playing style as our own. I don't always watch the NBA so i'm looking for opinions on players who maybe fit the mold I play as. I play tough defense, high IQ, and have an excellent pull-up J and mid-range game. I'm not great from beyond the arc, and I have size to play both the 4 and the 3, but more of a wing type player. I play with energy and work hard on the glass. I'm thinking maybe Kirilenko, but I'm not sure. Any ideas? Thanks.
  20. Have fun with your one selection in the first three rounds this year. Yeah, Angelo sure knows how to build a winner. Trade a second round pick for a garbage end, and his prize acquisition has thrown 19 interceptions this year. The Bears are going to be continually bad until they can find picks.
  21. No, it's fine. I like good football discussion, and we haven't had a lot of discussion like this in a while. I love my college football, and it's good to see other people discussing it. As long as it stays civil, it's fun.
  22. He gets overrated off the field, not on the field. I don't how you could possibly say the best player in College Football is overrated. The things he does for that Florida offense is simply great. His production and tape both speak for themselves. Fairweather fans are always going to say that's an excellent game by Tebow. It all comes down to breaking down tape and looking more into the production. He doesn't have a NFL arm? 65% of quarterbacks who come into the NFL their rookie seasons don't have a NFL arm. Pennington didn't, and it got worse as his career progressed because of injuries. Yet he's still an effective quarterback. You don't have to have a JaMarcus Russell arm to survive in the NFL. Tebow's arm is adequate and it can get stronger. His mechanics need to be refined, but again, so do a lot of quarterbacks coming into the league. It just comes with the territory. This has nothing to do with him in school. His play is that of a Heisman-like player.
  23. What a terrible throw and decision. What're you doing there Schaub. Texans on their way to another fail of a game, they won't make the playoffs until they find players who can play in pressure situations.
  24. What he does inside of Urban Meyer's offense is very commendable to say the absolute least. He's not even getting overrated, he's getting overhyped because of the accolades he's received while at Florida. Let's look at them: - 2 BCS Championships, one won largely because of his play and another inside of a very creative 2 QB formation. - A Heisman, in contention for a second. - Several SEC and All-American awards. Another reason is the fact that he came back to College and the fact that he's Christian. There are a lot of reasons to not like the guy, but his play dictates a very good offense, and he's got the complete stats to back it up. He's the leader of the number one ranked team in the nation. He doesn't just run for 2 or 3 yard touchdowns. The Gators offense calls for bubble screens and high-percentage passing plays. Since when is it a crime to allow a guy like Percy Harvin to find yards after the catch on a screen play. Honestly, the guy is just that great. And please, let's just douse those FB/TE 'tweener rumors right now. No scout in the NFL is going to buy him in any another position but Quarterback. Why do that to a guy who hasn't played anything else but QB?
  25. I don't think Pike's in the discussion at all. The Bearcats saw no decrease in the level of their play with Collaros in, and despite the gaudy stats, he plays in more of a spread offense then a guy like Tebow. McCoy plays in a spread, but he's but up better numbers. I think Gerhart also going to get some recognition because he's a white running back. Don't discount Masoli or Jacquizz Rodgers either.
