  1. Why's Tebow overrated? Thanks. And I would vote for Gerhart, or Mark Ingram. He runs so well, but I do think some of the share has to go to his fullback Marcecic and that great offensive line.
  2. Favre is tearing the Seahawks a new one. 22/25 passing for 213, 4 touchdowns and no interceptions. A perfect QB rating. Where are all these Seattle fans proclaiming 10-6, 9-7 now?
  3. One of the things that makes Masoli intriguing is his ability to read the defensive tackles and ends in the Zone Read spread option. Good look, and made an excellent run.
  4. I think Benson's smart enough to recognize that getting 29, 27, 37, and 34 carries in four respective games this season will eventually wear him down throughout the season, and into the playoffs. The Bengals don't have such a great need to run him more then 20 times a game down the stretch. They play Oakland, Cleveland, Detroit, Minnesota, San Diego, Kansas City and the Jets down the stretch, with only the Vikings having that dominant run game. Even then, the Vikings would still giving Fred Evans and Jimmy Kennedy a lot more snaps as they rest the Williams' for the playoffs as well. The Jets don't have Jenkins, the Chargers don't have Williams, and the Browns, Lions, Raiders and Chiefs just cannot stop the run. Giving a bit more of a workload to the stable of back-ups Marvin Lewis has assembled is a smart idea. You need to divulge the number of carries to reduce the risk of injury. I have no problem with any team running the ball 35-40 times a game if they can do it. Pound the football, and let Carson Palmer and that nice cast of receivers make plays through the air in single coverage. Scott should get 6-8 carries a game, Johnson 3-5, Leonard should be getting third down duty, and give Benson the leftovers, probably 14-18 a game. Benson already has 205 carries with 7 games left. If he keeps that up he'll be up in that 370 range. You just need to think about the long-term effects of giving a guy 27 carries against such a physical defense like the Ravens.
  5. I'll defend Belichick here. Simply put, he's trying to just put the Colts away. With the playmakers you have in Moss, Welker, Faulk out of the backfield and a line that's held Freeney in check all game (albeit at the expense of Robert Mathis), I think it's a calculated risk. Brady was the one to actually say that he was going for it. So why's Belichick getting all the flack here? If anything, it was an awful playcall. I believe Faulk was motioned out of the backfield, but whether he started there or not doesn't matter. Indianapolis was playing straight up man, a cover 0, with the MIKE linebacker dropping back into zone, more of a spy, trying to take away the easiest pass. C S M C FS B E T T E SS C That's kind of what the defense looked like. The Corner in the left slot wasn't playing that press, he was about 3 yards off the line. The Free Safety and the corner on the far right both played press coverage, trying to jam Welker and Moss at the line so the pressure could get there. The MIKE, as previously mentioned, played a spy/hook zone. The B (or Bandit) blitzed off the edge, and the SAM came with pressure up the A-Gap. The SS, Bullitt, played man on Faulk. In order against the defense, this is how the Pats receivers lined up; Stanback on the far left, Watson in the left slot, Welker in the next one, Faulk in the right slot, and Moss on the far right. Stanback ran a curl, Watson ran a vertical to give Stanback the opportunity to make a play on the ball. Welker ran a drag/crossing route, but the FS got a decent jam at the line. Faulk ran a little hook route at the 1st down marker, and Moss got jammed, so once he came out of the jam, the ball was out of Brady's hands. The Colts applied pressure with 6 men and forced a quicker throw. 6 against 5 obviously works in Indianapolis' favor. Session was a bit late around Freeney, but if he got a good jump, it was game over. I just didn't agree with the playcall. I think I would of gone for it. The defense had been on for about 70 plays before then, and I trust guys like Brady, Faulk, Welker and Moss to get the job done. I would've lined up differently. I would've had Brady in shotgun with Faulk on his left side to alleviate the pass rush and pick-up the blitz. I would've had Watson as my TE on the right and a twin WR set with Brady and Welker, giving Stanback an opportunity for M2M coverage. The Colts would've still jammed, and I would've run Stanback on a slant with Welker coming inside on a hook route. Moss run vertical and Watson release to the right flats. Faulk step in to block then go out for a route if Brady got time and didn't see a receiver. But, this is all hypothetical. As Herm would say, "Hello, you play to win the game".
  6. I think that's an excellent deal for Charlotte. Takes them one step closer to the playoffs.
  7. Fairly easy win after a tough first quarter, perhaps half depending on the way you look at it. But we settled down, made some plays, came out with the win and looking good going into next week's game with San Francisco.
  8. Look at their running back, Toby Gerhart. He's the epitome of a workhorse. 29 rushes, he'll go over 30 carries for the second straight week and third in five games. He consistently gets the yardage, he consistently gets the first downs, and he allows the Cardinal to get the touchdowns. Andrew Luck is no slouch at the quarterback position. Jim Harbaugh has built that program into a Pac-10 power. USC's young, inexperienced, and not good enough yet. Give them another two years and I think they'll be back, but they just don't have the experience to hang with some of these teams. Gerhart's going to end up as a first round pick. He's just such a load to bring down.
  9. Since I know there are a lot of people from Philly on here, I'm just wondering if it's possible for someone to give me some information that maybe I wouldn't get anywhere else. If you have a friend or something who goes to Susquehanna University. I'm looking at it for lacrosse, it's an up and coming D3 program. It's got a lot of things that I like, and I may e-mail the coach. Is it a public school? Thanks for any help.
  10. Champ sure looked better then Revis tonight! Took it in the backdoor all night long. Repeatedly.
  11. Workout plan, it's really intense. It works your abs and core to the max. It works though, I use it about twice a week. It's hard though.
  12. Ryan Grant is [expletive]in' awful dude, he's averaging under 4 YPC on a decent amount of carries. That's pretty terrible, considering the line's strength is run blocking. They really have nothing behind Jennings and Driver. James Jones is a nice player, but nothing more then an average deep threat. I wouldn't mind seeing the development of Jordy Nelson, but I'm not expecting much. Finley could be something that tight end. It's just an average unit right now.
  13. He's got a touch above-average set of receivers, no offensive line, and a terrible running game behind him. I'm not trying to make every excuse in the book for Rodgers, but he's hardly overrated.
  14. Were you watching that game? I highly doubt you were, because Revis was in man coverage, while Dwight Lowery and Lito Sheppard and the likes were playing bracket coverage on the other side. There was no holding, it was just a straight shut down job, man-to-man.
  15. If that's how your evaluating talents, then just stop right there.
  16. Rodgers didn't play as well today. I admit he held onto the ball way too long today, because the protection was surprisingly adequate. I'd give about 50% blame on the 6 sacks to each. 3 on Rodgers, 3 on the line.
  17. "Nothing hurts more than letting Larry Fitzgerald have his way with you." 28-7 at the 2-minute warning.
  18. Currently reading "Football's Eagle and Stack Defenses" by Penn State's linebacking coach Rob Vanderlinden. JoePa also added a bit to it. If there are any PSU fans here, read it. It's an indepth look of the current Nittany Lions defense.
  19. Ealey doesn't even think it was suspendable. Golic was a [expletive]in' bum on 'roids as well. I don't think eye gouging happens often, but things of that nature do happen.
  20. He's getting serviceable time to make throws, which is what any decent quarterback needs. You can't have a left tackle that lets Jared Allen bull-rush him and get to the quarterback just as he makes his 5-step dropback. And any quarterback with a sense of awareness and mobility is going to be able to stretch plays with his feet. C'mon guy.
  21. That was an excellent start to my morning. What an idiot. Dude was on the verge of tears haha.
  22. He has not had plenty of time. Maybe on the rare occasion, but not what a Peyton Manning or Drew Brees is getting. 90% of the time when Rodgers dropped back he had a linebacker or lineman in his face. You then have to alter your throw, it's just a mess. If you give him some remnant of an offensive line he'd be putting up numbers at a clip just below Manning and Brees and we'd be praising him as the next Tom Brady, because we all know the Packers' running situation.
  23. I actually don't really care what happens. I never said anything about Bliunt, either, even though Blount is going to be back in the next couple of weeks. All I'm saying, is this is being blown out of proportion because of something that got caught on camera's. What happens if this happens but the camera doesn't catch it? Because this type of thing happens every little dog pile you get. The intent to hurt the person is still there whether it's an eye gouge or it's grabbing some lineman's nuts at the bottom of the pile. I do think he should be suspended longer. But he's not a "filthy" player for it, because that's what lkr said he was. That's what I was arguing.
