Past And Present Generations

Gretzky would still excel. He was too good of a player to fade out. -
What's wrong with it? I've had nothing gone wrong yet.

I find Dierdorf to be very insightful, especially when they're talking about the trenches. He knows his [expletive]. -

I've wanted this for Madden for ever. Sunday night primetime have Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth and the NBC presentation (which I liked the best). Bryant Gumbel and Dan Dierdorf & CBS. The MNF crew. Fox. It'd be so sick, and it's possible in every way as well. You could even work the NFLN in there somehow. -
Our protection shored up this week, we didn't take too big of a beating, and Seattle doesn't have the personnel in the Secondary, nor the pass rush to compete with our offense. That being said, it'll be close. But Arizona wins. I'll sig bet with all of the 'Hawks fans.

No continuity on offense, they canned their offensive coordinator a week before the year. Marshawn Lynch hasn't heated up. Terrell Owens is now on the downfall of his career. Trent Edwards will never amount to anything more then a career mediocre back-up. No protection. They get run and passed upon. They're just terrible. In every facet of the game. Even special teams is down this year.

Minnesota Vikings, nfls worst undefeated team?
The Great iBoldin replied to reno's topic in NFC Conference Discussion
I see a lot of people are eating crow right now, but I think I'll wait till after this horrid stretch of San Diego, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh goes, then take judgement. Even after that, they go to Washington (different time zone), San Diego at home, and then the Giants. This is a team that's playing above expectations, but I don't expect it to last. At all. -
Here's a few more. NT Jay Ratliff, Dallas Cowboys. Best player on the defense so far this year. He's been phenomenal. RS Stefan Logan, Pittsburgh Steelers. My boy from the CFL. He's been setting up the Steelers with great field position all year. I think Pittsburgh ranks 4th in field position? LB Tamba Hali, Kansas City Chiefs. Made a successful transition to linebacker in KC's 3-4 system, and the production has shown. RB Jerome Harrison, Cleveland Browns. Does a lot of things for the Browns offense. Blocks, catches out of the backfield, and he's been useful as a runner. Only thing? He's probably not a starter in the future. QB Josh Johnson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I lauded Jon Gruden for making this pick in the 5th round a draft ago. He's raw, but his fit inside a WCO offense has been flawless. He's very athletic, and he can make NFL throws. If only he had someone to throw it to. LB Justin Durant, Jacksonville Jaguars. Was all over the field against both Arizona and Seattle. Dependable to play the SAM or MIKE in Del Rio's 4-3. LB Jamaal Westerman, New York Jets. A UDFA find by Rex Ryan, he's the reason ST stud Jason Trusnik could get dealt. He's a gem of a find, and he blitzes up the middle beautifully. I know a few Rutgers guys know of him.

Man, the Jaguars are so inconsistent. They looked like a playoff team last week against Tennessee, but today they just looked horrible. No running game, they need a second runner for Jones-Drew. He simply cannot handle the work load.
-
Scored a touchdown and sealed the 2-point convert. But the Panthers aren't bad enough to be a top three pick, because that's where Eric Berry is gonna go. He's a top-three player depending on who you talk to. I have him at No. 2 on my overall big board (Juniors & Seniors).

And what.. experience the Bruce Gradowski revelation for 11 more games? Please. Russell is the best option Oakland has. Maybe give him an offensive line for starters.
-
You can't expect to win football games if you put the ball in Shaun Hill's hands 38 times a game. The defense needs to step up and take command of the game. Singletary had little trust in Glen Coffee.
-
Good win. I got nervous down the stretch, but DRC had a bounce back game. It may not look like it with Andre having 8 receptions for 100 yards or so, but he had considerable success. And we stayed on par with Seattle, and got a game back on SF.
-
He was looking for McDaniels the whole way lol.
-
In what possible way could you be worried? Afraid of JaMarcus' 65-yard bombzzzz to DHB?
-
14-10 at the half, but the Longhorns are proving that they aren't above that ranking at Number 2. I've had 'Bama at the top spot all year, and they should move ahead of Texas regardless in the AP Polls.
-
Meh, Coffee's too inconsistent right now to piece together a quality, 100-yard+, but the Falcons defensive tackle depth has taken a hit, so the possibility is definitely there to do so. For me, I want to see how the outside tackles do against John Abraham, Lawrence Sidbury and the Falcons rushers. Atlanta has gotten pretty good pressure from their front four in every game this season, and it's probably the 49ers biggest test besides Minnesota, and maybe Arizona. There was a cool soundbyte on NFL.com with Singletary on Sound FX. He's very strict against players making mistakes, but he's got an honest side in believing his players deserve a second chance to make the right play. Take Josh Morgan. Dropped a surefire touchdown in the third, Singletary was on him like a dog on raw meat. Softened up, gave him another chance, and he came through with a TD in double coverage. He's a genuinely great coach, and I'm sure the players take up to him.

The Giants worked out William Beatty at tight end this week. That's not the only thing that's going in someone's tight end come Sunday. The Giants are going to absolutely run the ball down Oakland's throat.
-
This. LSU is terribly overrated. They've done nothing to earn that ranking, except for beating Georgia on the road, but even the Dawgs are in a down year.
-
Welcome back. Are you the one that stayed up for like an entire 4 days or something, 100 hours? I remember some guy from the old OTR doing that and he was from Australia.

Who was better in their prime? Brian Urlacher or Ray Lewis?
The Great iBoldin replied to reno's topic in NFL Football
You didn't prove anything though. Just stating simple stats and just saying it's your opinion isn't worth anything at all. Why is Urlacher better then Ray Lewis? Clutch had the worst reason anyways. -

The Great iBoldin replied to reno's topic in NFL Football
I know Urlacher makes plays. Most middle linebackers have to do so. Go figure, huh? He simply does not make as many plays as Lewis. Not too mention Urlacher has been injury prone over the last two seasons. Why can't he go for the rest of the year? A wrist injury? Aw, that's too bad. What is that now, three years of being continually injured? Someone's reading comprehensions off. I'm pretty sure I said he played in the Cover 2 system the past few years. You know it's a soft defense, it's vanilla for a team that doesn't know how to put the nail in the coffin on an offense. -

The Great iBoldin replied to reno's topic in NFL Football
All you're doing is looking at stats and making a blind opinion. Stats mean nothing, because Lewis is and was far better at being a leader, leading by example, making plays when they needed to be made and being the feircest linebacker in the last ten years. He plays a smashmouth breed of football. Urlacher is a converted safety who's toughness is hid in a cupcake Tampa 2 the last few years. -

The Great iBoldin replied to reno's topic in NFL Football
Urlacher helped revolutionize the Cover/Tampa 2 Middle linebacker position, introducing an undersized, yet agile linebacker can make it in the NFL. The MIKE was revolutionized a long time before Urlacher, who was a converted safety after all. I'll take Ray Lewis. -
It's a blow to the already overrated Cowboys, but this won't really hurt his draft stock. He's still a mid-first type of value, maybe falling to the late first. Draft-wise, this is probably the sign for Benn and Damian Williams to cash in. Maybe Demaryius Thomas too (who I love no homo, as a prospect).
