Pacquiao-Clottey

Recommended Posts

Clottey hurt Pacquiao way more than Pacquiao hurt Clottey. Pacquiao just threw way more punches as Clottely barely threw anything, but when he did land, Clottey pounded Pacquiao.

The Sixers would've beat the Heat last night if they scored more points.

The Sixers didn't choose not to score. Clottey chose not to throw punches. Your argument doesn't work there. Pacquiao clearly won but it wasn't as impressive a performance that would make me think he'd be able to beat Shane Mosely or Money.

He didn't even need an impressive performance to beat Clottey. He ran his show every round, the punch count was something like 1200-400. Pacquiao was treating Clottey like a body bag, Clottey fought scared, he fought like a little girl.

You do realize that Pacquiao landed only like 27% of the punches he threw right? Punches thrown is great but if you're just hitting cloves it means nothing. This guy gave Pacquiao a welt under his eye and was snapping his head with uppercuts WHEN HE THREW. I agree there's no doubt Pacquiao won, but he really never hurt Clottey that much. I absolutely agree that Clottey fought a scared fight and against a guy like Pacquiao you can't fight scared.

Dude, there is a reason why fighters dont throw punches. They are usually too scared that something will go wrong and they will be caught wide open leaving their opponent with a knockout punch.

True, but what Clottey did was ridiculous. It was even tougher to watch because he actually could hurt Manny but he just chose not to throw and trust in his abilities.

A guy like Mosely who isn't scared to trade blows would knock out Manny IMO. As for Floyd, I think he'd handle Pacquiao and win an easy decision tbh.

After watching the fight, I really think Money can take Pacman. Clottey did fight scared out there, probably smart though, because I think Pacquiao could've floored him had Clottey attempted to trade blows...but then again, what's the point of going the distance with someone on purpose? Manny should've ended the fight earlier, instead of tapping at his chin for so long.

It does work, because your detraction from Pacquiao's performance sounds exactly the same. The Sixers couldn't score more because they were the inferior team just like Clottey, who was thoroughly smothered. He was hesitant for a reason.
