Albert Pujols or Alex Rodriguez?

Which one is the best player in MLB? Its obviously one of them.

Ill take Pujols, but this is closer then people might think. After A-rods monster postseason he finally put his critics to rest. What he did to elite pitching in the postseason really helped his legacy. Pujols also has a ring but I dont think he was as dominant in postseason play as A-Rod was. Still night in and night out Pujols gives you the best chance to win. Both are terrific defensively but A-Rod might have more value on defense because he plays 3rd base instead of first.

So yeah ill take Pujols because hes the best line drive power hitter arguably the game has ever seen. He hits anything and gets on base more with his average and can hit home runs at a higher pace because he crushes almost anything he hits.

Albert Pujols. Pujols could retire today and I'd consider him a top 5 hitter of all time, and the greatest right handed batter ever. If he plays 10 more seasons with a similar level of production to what he's done so far, he will be the greatest baseball player of all time. Yes, I said it.

Right now Albert Pujols, A-rod is leaving his prime Albert is just in the middle of it. However when it's all said in done I'd rank Alex over Albert in terms of this career unless Albert wins a few world series or hits a [expletive]load of homers or wins a triple crown.

This is a lot tougher than it seems and I think I may go A-Rod. Not because he's a Yankee but his resume is better at this point. They are equal in MVP's and titles. However, A-Rod has 2 Gold Gloves, 10 Silver Sluggers and 4-time Hank Aaron Award winner. He will also be joining the 3,000 hit club before his career is over which is a HUGE accomplishment.

I'll take A-Rod.

I think Manny is the greatest right handed hitter ever but Pujols is definitely up there.

I dunno, I guess this is just a matter of opinion. Both absolutely dominate every column of the stat sheet, can't really make a convincing argument for one over the other, it's just a preference thing. The one clear thing Manny has going for him is that he's been doing it for a bit longer.

The one thing that stands out to me with Pujols, when talking sheer freaky talent, is that as a 21 year old, he played a 161 game season and OPS'd over 1.000. The guy is just a freak (not that Manny isn't of course, but this has just always stood out to me). Can't really go wrong arguing for either guy though.

The OPS argument is really the strongest one for Pujols (for once I agree with Fish...wtf??). A-Rod has OPS'd 1.000+ 6 times in his career. Pujols has done it 7 times....in 9 less seasons. A-Rod is amazing, as is Manny, but I can confidently vote for Pujols.

Also, I hate using strikeouts as a reason to bring down a hitter, but it's worth noting that Pujols has never had 100+ strikeouts in a season, while A-Rod has struck out over 100 times all but 2 seasons (not counting the seasons he played fewer than 50 games).
