Dr. Feelgood
Might be a good time for Kevin Pritchard to wipe his computer hard drive clean. And he should probably get a second cellular telephone for non-business calls, and also, be careful who he talks to about his future as the Trail Blazers general manager. Note to KP: Watch your back. The people who work at Vulcan Inc. are busy working behind the scenes again with owner Paul Allen's basketball operation, and those following the curious firing of vice president Tom Penn this week are looking at Pritchard wondering if his shelf life as the franchise Golden Boy is expiring. "They can't do Kevin in the middle of the season, but they can do a drive-by on someone close to him," said Warren LeGarie, the agent for Penn and Pritchard. "But guess who would be next?" http://www.oregonlive.com/sports/oregonian/john_canzano/index.ssf/2010/03/canzano_vulcans_are_hovering_a.htmlBy John Canzano Some heavy stuff said in the article, but the Blazers have got to keep Kevin Pritchard as the General Manager. Firing him would be one of the biggest mistakes. I hate when douchebags like the Vulcans who aren't basketball smart, trying to mess things up. That's why most teams have a general manager, someone who IS basketball smart, who knows what they're doing to run the team. I think Paul Allen is underestimating just how popular Pritchard is here in Portland.
BasX
Another board I am on has a large amount of Blazer fans, and 90% of them hate Canzano, we'll see how it does. If he leaves, he will get many calls from other teams.

Dash
Many believed Penn was destined to run team, but clearly something caused momentum to change lately and Penn lost favor. And his job. 10:46 PM Mar 16th via web Pritchard helped Penn leverage Port with Minny job, and sources say GM expected he could get new deal too. Ownership declined, emphatically. 10:42 PM Mar 16th via web League sources have been describing unrest in front office for months, centered on Pritchard's inability to get new contract after Penn did. 10:39 PM Mar 16th via web Two officials who spent time in last 10 days with Port GM Kevin Pritchard and fired No 2 guy, Tom Penn, spoke of "awkwardness" and "tension" -Woj twitter
Dash
Update: As executives of Vulcan Inc. discussed the pros and cons of firing Portland Trail Blazers general manager Kevin Pritchard last summer, the discussion found its way to this conclusion: Pritchard had proven to be a solid senior-level scout, but largely incapable of running the organization. Vulcan, the Blazers’ parent company, had watched Pritchard embark upon several selfish and destructive bents, and strong sentiment existed to fire him. Owner Paul Allen and the Vulcan executives no longer trusted him to put the franchise before his own ambitions. The list of transgressions that troubled Vulcan always came back to similar themes: Pritchard’s thirst for public adulation, money and power. Inside and outside the organization, Pritchard harped on how much more Portland coach Nate McMillan made than him. He complained to friends, rivals and relative acquaintances, and that played an immense part in the gulf that exists between the front office and coach. When negotiations became contentious with star Brandon Roy(notes), Pritchard didn’t stand firm with the limits of ownership’s offer. What’s more, Pritchard tried to cozy up to Roy by selling the notion that it was the two of them together trying to get the contracts they deserved from owner Paul Allen. For the unparalleled resources Allen has provided Pritchard to remake the roster – millions in dollars to purchase draft picks, packaging them in trades or stockpiling prospects overseas – Vulcan was beyond irate that Pritchard still couldn’t present a united front when Allen decided to make a financial stand. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AvNUJR00wmsh4BBarrgSTSi8vLYF?slug=aw-trailblazers032210&prov=yhoo&type=lgns Wow, after that I would say he is as good as gone.
