Dr. Feelgood
So a guy at my work (he works in a different building than I do, I've never met him but have talked to him over the phone regarding business), his parents (or parent, I'm not 100% sure) died a couple of months back and him and his sister got some good inheritance. Well, instead of buying like a house or something, he bought a Ferrari (paid cash for it). Last week, he got a $9,000 tune up on the car. He's been driving the car like it's any other car (most people cherish theirs, my boss and I saw a 4-5 year old Ferrari with 700 miles on the car on autotrader.com). Keep in mind, this is a guy that makes about 10-12 bucks an hour. Well, yesterday (3-18-10), him and a co worker were taking a product from one building to another, which was literally 2 blocks away. You can stand outside the door of the building he works at and see the building they were going to. It's definitely walking distance. So he wanted to show his co worker how fast it can go. When he hit third gear, I guess the back end of the car somewhat spun out and he smashed into a flatbed trailer or something like that.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/Shorty333/flatbed.jpg Lucky for both of them, they survived the crash. The guy in the passenger seat had to get stitches in his head while the driver had scratches and bruises I believe (I've heard various stories). This is what his car looks like now. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/Shorty333/wrecked1.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/Shorty333/wrecked2.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/Shorty333/wrecked3.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/Shorty333/wrecked4.jpg Yeah...good use of money. bigdog17k
Dumb move, shame that he had to wreck such a nice automobile. You usually don't drive those around like an everyday car. -_-

YugoRocketsFan
That's hella crazy. What an idiot. Feel bad for the car though. Personally I feel bad for the situation, cause think about it, he spent money on the inheritance money from his parent's death on a Ferrari, and then crashes it, its basically gone.

fly3rs18
but as much as i would love to have an amazing car, i just dont think i would be able to own one unless i could easily afford it. i cant imagine putting a good amount of my money into something that could be destroyed so easily, and it might not even be your fault. you could be stopped at a light in your nice car and some dumbass could slam into the back of you and your car is gone. if i had a ton of money its totally different though... fish7718
That car is not gone, its going to need a [expletive] load of body word but from what I can see the whole front and back ends are completely intact, gonna cost like 3-4 thousand for repair. He's lucky he really didn't destroy it and he's even more lucky he didn't kill himself. When it comes to getting a car I'd just get something that gets me from A to B in a comfortable enjoyable setting for that exact reason. SRV
I am sure he could fix it, he wouldn't just give up on a car he spent my inheritance on. As stupid as it sounds, a lot of people would do the same. Don't tell me you wouldn't buy a nice [expletive] car, or house with inheritance. He doesn't have kids so he just wants to make himself happy.
fly3rs18
because not everyone wants kids when they're still young? i meant more that its good that he doesnt have kids because he doesnt seem like the smartest guy

I would probably get a decent two bedroom two bathroom house with mine for my sister and I to live in. Then probably an above decent car to go from point a to point b, then stock the rest away.
