Andrew Bynum suffers strained achilles tendon

David Beckham just suffered this and is out for world cup. This isnt a sore shoulder or something this is serious.

Yeah, but it depends on the severity of it. He could be out for a week, could be up to 8-9 weeks.

Probably a good thing, though, because Andrew Bynum has been a black hole with the ball lately. He never, ever, ever passes out of the post. Ever. And his defense sucks.

MBENGA TIME.

"Healing times are usually 2 to 10 days for a mild strain, 10 days to 6 weeks for a moderate strain, or 6 to 10 weeks for a severe strain. Repeated injuries may take longer to heal and are more prone to complications. "

lets hope its a mild strain :)

Andrew Bynum (Achilles) out indefinitely

Andrew Bynum is out indefinitely after straining his left Achilles tendon on Friday.

Bynum is wearing a plastic walking boot and will have an MRI on Saturday. There is reason for pessimism (he felt a "brief pop") and fantasy owners should start drafting contingency plans. Lamar Odom will get a big boost if Bynum misses any time.

Well this hurts....

lol

We are so beat up this year, Odom is playing with a shoulder injury as well.

Anyways, all reports say that this isn't too serious. Drew says he will be out for the road trip, which means he will miss at least 6 games. We'll be fine with him out. We've overcome injuries to Kobe/Pau/Ron this year, Drew's injury won't be an obstacle (hopefully). He has been outplaying Pau as of late, so this kind of hurts. I hope Pau finally decides to step up with Drew out.

This move pushes LO back to the starting lineup, which is a positive. I hope he plays well enough there that he gains the starting spot. Drew should be coming off the bench, that way he'll get more touches with the second unit and become more aggressive. Our bench will be horrible though, we need to do some seriously retooling in the offseason to get more depth, and a new point guard.

Knowing Drew, healing time is a mystery. I expect him to be back before the playoffs though. Hopefully by then Pau/LO will be in such a groove that Phil will have no choice but to bring Drew off the bench.

Knowing Drew, healing time is a mystery

I am thinking the exact same thing lol... I wouldn't be surprised if we hear in a couple days he is being shut down for the year.

It is strained though, Bekham and the wrestler's were both torn, in which case it would be career threatening. It is still a pretty serious injury, as are all foot-area injuries for basketball players, but he should probably be back in a short period of time.

They already entertained offers for Drew. Remember Chris Bosh?

Well, that was a rumor that many eventually said wasn't exactly true. Plus, even if it was, Bosh is a superstar, and that would make sense for many teams.

These types of trade offers for Bynum that may be available this offseason (such as Hinrich and fillers) could be considered. Before, not a chance...but I'm starting to think it's very possible if we get a decent big man back.
