Phightins
Biggest disgrace I have seen in sports in a long time. Unbelievable.
Cobb
Are they showing the game on National TV?
EastCoastNiner
That was a horrific call, but I wish the ump had been Joe West or C.B. Buckner.
TheHutch
I can't believe what just happened in Tigrs Indians poor Galaraga how terrible to blow the last call of the perfect game, that is one of the worst calls of all time, guarantee instant replay is added nowThat's exactly what the Indians broadcaster said after the game. They were even pissed/upset about it. It wasn't even that close. Not to mention Austin Jackson had an INCREDIBLE catch to start the 9th inning. Brand New
What a [expletive]ing idiot. Feel bad for Armando.
Teletopez
That was an incredible catch by Jackson on the 25th out. You don't even need replay to tell that Galaragga beat Donald to the bag. That is as rough as heart breaker can get, I suppose.
Cobb
Guess I'll just have to catch it on Sports Center later tonight.
EastCoastNiner
I'm not always for giving a player a call when they are close to doing something incredible or something like that, but even if it's extremely close on that play, you give him the out. I think that Joyce just didn't want to be thought of as giving him the automatic out and though he was safe, but now he'll be villafied for it. Cobb
Wow, I'm surprised someone already put the "Controversial Call" section in his wikipedia bio.
Teletopez
http://i48.tinypic.com/2hzokuh.jpg I'm not a Tiger fan so I can't imagine what they're feeling right now. Imagine how long this could continue to bother Galaragga in the future. It would be easier to accept if the runner really were safe than to know that he had 27 up, 27 down.

trutrojan8
I guarantee Joyce is feeling 20x worse than Gallaraga is right now. Still though, it must suck to be that close, and actually know you did it, but it won't count.
NomarFachix
Fellow baseball purists can blame Joyce when replay is expanded to baserunning calls... Way to go. Pro-replay fans couldn't have dreamed of a better argument for their side
fish7718
Even Jason Donald couldn't believe he was holding his head cause he knew he was out.

Jenneral
Even Jason Donald couldn't believe he was holding his head cause he knew he was out.I usually am one to think everyone should give it their all on every play... but given the circumstances he should have let up. He "was" out... no need to make it close like that. -_-
bigdog17k
That guy is an idiot. Don't umps even usually favor a pitcher with a perfect game going? Wow.
SRV
Can't they overturn it? Thats kind of ridiculous that the runner was CLEARLY out and they can't do anything about it.  Oh well, guess we can't have three perfect games in one year. If I was the pitcher that would bother me forever, knowing that I probably won't be able to do that again. They'll need to send in an appeal to the league which I'm assuming they're going to do.
