Cobb Posted July 28, 2010 Report Share Posted July 28, 2010 X-rays negative on Angels' Dan Haren, plans to pitch against Rangers Angels starter Dan Haren, who left his first start for the club Monday after being struck on the right forearm by a line drive, expects to start against the Rangers Saturday, according to the Orange County Register's Bill Plunkett. After X-rays of his right arm and an exam by orthopedist Dr. Lewis Yocum showed no serious injuries, Haren told reporters he planned to pitch Saturday. "If this is as bad as it's going to feel, it should be fine by Saturday," Haren told the Register. If Haren can pitch Saturday, the Angels should lineup with RHP Ervin Santana, Haren and RHP Jered Weaver over the weekend. Haren, who was acquired Sunday, was hit by a Kevin Youkilis line drive in the fifth inning of his first start for the Angels on Monday. He immediately left the game. fish7718 Posted July 29, 2010 Report Share Posted July 29, 2010 Nationals placed RHP Stephen Strasburg on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 22, with right shoulder stiffness.There was some back-and-forth, but after Nationals manager Jim Riggleman announced that he would be shut down for ten days, this move made more and more sense. Former pitcher Jim Bunning can talk all he wants, but this is the right move to protect a special arm in a down year for the Nationals. Better to look to the future. Hart will receive $26.5 million over the next three seasons, a source told ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney. Hart, who was the subject of multiple trade rumors before the July 31 deadline, is having one of the best seasons in his career, hitting .288 with 23 home runs and 72 RBIs. Jason Kubel hit a ball up in the catwalk which caused everyone to lose track of it and it ended up landing near the pitchers mound. The Twins ended up winning the game because of this. IMO the Rays really need a new stadium. That is a ridiculous way to lose a game.
