I love Hawk, you guys are crazy. He's slick with his words, and idk he just has an old school presence about him.

Eh, I disagree, but I'd probably love him if I was a White Sox fan.

Nyger Morgan nearly cost his team the win the other night when he barreled into the Marlins catcher instead of sliding, getting called out. He then pushed him, I believe, on another play. It was obvious he'd get thrown at and hit, but don't really understand everyone getting annoyed at him stealing two bases...it's baseball, stop [expletive]ing at a guy for playing the game. Then, when he charged the mound after getting thrown at again, which I'm unaware if that was for the stealing or tackling the catcher, he really got drilled by Sanchez.

When you are losing that big, you do not try to steal bases. I think his teammates and coaches were probably upset the most by that. It was pretty obvious he was running to "stick it to the Marlins" or whatever, and putting his own personal vendetta above the team. When you are down that big, you cannot afford to be thrown out on the basepaths. He is lucky he was safe both times.

Morgan has had a couple questionable slides in the past couple weeks (as you mentioned), and he is also currently appealing a suspension for throwing a ball at a fan. So needless to say, his character has come into question in the past few weeks. That display tonight (especially as he was walking back to the dugout) certainly does not make him look good.

I have such a radically different viewpoint on things than everyone, as Phightins can attest to after we talked about it last night on AIM.

I saw nothing wrong with the collision in Tuesday's game, it's a split second decision between sliding and colliding and he couldn't know either the catcher sucks and wouldn't cover the plate/the throw would be a split second late and he was trying to free the ball and win the game.

I saw nothing wrong with charging the mound, throw at him once, fine. Throw at him twice, expect a retaliation. You're not going to be able to simply pick on a player at the plate and expect him to sit back and take it because he cleanly took out the catcher and he unfortunately got injured.

The ball in the stands, idiotic. Not defend-able. The other stuff? I didn't see a problem with it. He needs to take those 7 days off and whatever he gets for the brawl (which hopefully isn't much more than 5 games) and just take a step back and chill out. He's got a "world against me" attitude right now, just needs to take in the big picture and get back to playing ball.

EDIT: For the Gaby Sanchez nut huggers right now, the dude threw a clothesline on a blindsided guy in a fistfight/brawl. Coooooooooool.

Haha, you know my stance on this, but I will post it here anyway for the hell of it.

I also did not see anything wrong with charging the mound or the slide from Tuesday itself. My problem with the slide on Tuesday was that it was unnecessary and not very smart, although technically clean. As Harold Reynolds pointed out on MLB Network, if Morgan slides he is likely safe. Instead he runs into the catcher and winds up being out. I did see a problem with running into the catcher in the St. Louis series. Absolutely no need for that, unless Nyjer Morgan is blind. My only issue with him charging the mound was that he is currently appealing a 7 game suspension, but whatever, that's his deal. The display as he walked back to the dugout was hilarious, but that is what is going to land him in the deepest [expletive].

Oh, as for Gaby Sanchez, I had no problem with what he did. If this were hockey, being the third man in is obviously not cool, but in baseball I think it's a bit different. Gotta protect your pitcher.

Agree with this, but "ZOMG GABY SANCHEZ PWNZ NYJER MORGAN" is a little far fetched, that's all I meant.

Andy Pettitte is making a rehab start with the Trenton Thunder (Yankees AA team). The catch is, it will come during a Thunder playoff game. I know, this is probably pretty common when MLB guys are rehabbing in September and most minor leagues are in their postseasons, and I know that the primary function of these minor league teams is to feed their Major League affiliates, but if I were on the Thunder's opponent, I'd be pretty pissed.

Going to the Rockies game tomorrow, hopefully they'll make it 8 straight against an awful D-Backs team

Please knock out that [expletive]ing mascot if you see it so it does not venture behind home plate during the most crucial part of the game.
