Phightins
Anybody going to watch the ESPN 30 for 30? 4 days in October? I think this might be the best one. Yes, I can't wait for it. It will be the first one I've seen. I never got around to seeing the Iverson one. Oh, BTW, I still love you Kyle and Waldo. Phightins
Haha, I heard about that. Was it a whole episode dedicated to mocking Sabermetrics? Well it wasn't clear until the end that they were mocking it, but yes, basically. I don't think SABR people were too offended, though. It was pretty funny for both sides, I think. Teletopez
The first ever baseball game I went to was Marlins @ Mets at Shea Stadium July of 2005. I often go through the Yankees Top Plays Archive to look back at plays I remember from past years, but I decided to dig out the plays from that game today in the Mets archive. I just discovered that A.J. Burnett started that game for Florida. I know that I paid little attention to the NL back then, so I probably did not know who he was until he reached Toronto, and that's probably why it didn't stick in my mind. Phightins
I wish my father would have taken note of the first game he took me to. It was some time in the early '90's at Veterans Stadium. I'd LOVE to know when it was.

Teletopez
I don't remember the first game I went to that well, but I do remember wearing my new Jeter jersey to Shea. For that, I got a nudge from Mr. Met as I walked past him and had some older guys throwing peanuts at me. Good times. The MLB is reportedly considering adding a 7-day DL as an option for players with concussions. Edited October 21, 2010 by Waldo
Phightins
My earliest Phillies game memory is walking around the basement of the Vet, and having some douche put out his cig on my arm. No idea what happened on the field that night!

Phightins
Just noticed that the Padres only have $1.1 million committed for next season, currently. And that money is for two buy outs. So technically they have nobody under contract right now. Wow. Meanwhile the Phillies have over $140 million committed. Weeee. Teletopez
The Simpsons made fun of Sabermetrics on their episode last night and it was glorious!!Finally got around to seeing the episode. It was clever. Thankfully, the Nets' season started just in time to pick me up from the end to the Yankees season. If it weren't for that, I would probably be feeling a lot more emptiness. Phightins
Yep. Back when I had MLB Extra Innings, if I was bored and had no interest in any particular game, I'd usually put on the Mariners because Niehaus was one of the best. Or the Dodgers to hear Scully. fish7718
Who could have guessed, 1 month in 2007 and what came down to 2 3 game series and eventually 1 game would decide the fates of 2 franchises, 1 catapulted to a WS, a huge spender and a major player in MLB, the other taken from a WS contender to a playoff contender to a potential WC contender to a 70 win team... -_- why must we Mets fan suffer so much
Phightins
RIP Bob Feller.... I was just talking about him earlier today actually. In light of the Cliff Lee signing, I was debating the best rotations of all time, and 1950s Indians came up. Sad. RIP to a legend.

Phightins
Early thought is that Moustakas, Pineda, Hellickson and Taillon are too low. I do not have Insider so I couldn't see his reasoning, though. Also nice to see 5 Phillies listed, although they are all pretty far off from the Majors (with the exception of Brown obviously). The one thing that I actually take Keith Law's word for every year.
