Jenneral
John Salmons has helped lead the Bucks into playoff contention and with his future uncertain, he said Thursday that he would like to stay in Milwaukee. "Oh, yeah. Definitely, definitely. Great team, great organization. I enjoy being here," he said. Salmons can opt out of the $5.8 million option in his contract for the 2010-11 season. He's averaging nearly 20 points per game for Milwaukee and his value has surged since arriving from Chicago in February. The Bucks have until June 30 to work an extension with Salmons. After that, he'd hit the open market.RealGM
Jenneral
Hopefully he's not just saying that. He could earn much more than $5.8 mil with his current level of play if he chose to opt out of his contract. Maybe he'll still do that and hope we offer him something more assuming extension talks don't go far? If you were the Bucks, what would be the most you'd offer him? The Regime
Not too much, probably around $5-6 million at most. He's just way too inconsistent to get anything more. Last year during the Bulls playoff series against the Celts he played really well but fast forward to this season he didn't do [expletive] for Chicago. He's playing well for the Bucks right now, but I would be surprised if he hit another mad slump.
Check my Stats
He is worth about as much as he is getting paid, especially considering he is 30 years old now.
Sun Tzu
If the Bucks can keep Salmons for another year then that'll be great for them.
