ChosenOne
How can you be an overrated 3 point shooter? lol I really dont know I was just watching Sheed play on ESPN against the Spurs and kept wondering why he was taking the 3 ball after 3 ball. I would consider him an overrated 3 point shooter (hype). but yeah this really does not make any sense, should have thought about this a bit more before posting it. Warren2ThaG
Sasha if he played more minutes, all he does is shoot 3's and probably miss all of them.
ChosenOne
Sasha if he played more minutes, all he does is shoot 3's and probably miss all of them. Exactly what I thinking, the so call "Machine" is a great example.
BasX
If guess he might fit but Kapono. He doesn't shoot it enough and him creating off the dribble is always a travel.
Owner Real Deal Posted March 29, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted March 29, 2010 JR Smith comes to mind. He should be shooting 40% or better from downtown, with all the open threes he takes. Daequan Cook as well, although he hasn't played much at all this season.
JWaLL
How can you be an overrated 3 point shooter? That was my immediate thought after reading the title. Repped.
Flash
I'd guess someone who shoots a ton of them but shoots a terrible percentage? It may look like they make a lot but in reality, they take way too many.
JWaLL
I suppose James Jones could be considered one. He is known as an apparent 3 point specialist but is hardly an impressive "pure shooter."
Doc
QRich, Damon Jones comes to mind.

Sheed isn't an overrated 3 Point shooter, cause well, he's not a good one(Average at best). He's a chucker, who doesn't realize he sucks at shooting 3's and should just stop for the benefit of his team instead of being a fat lazy [expletive] to talks smack without thinking for a second of how awful he is playing this year. Redneck
Kyle Korver. He misses so many wide open threes.,
YugoRocketsFan
Kyle Korver. He misses so many wide open threes., Hes shooting 56% from 3 so far this season.........................
Redneck
That's because he's not getting many wide open threes. Seriously if he is guarded he can hit them, leave him open and he hits the cameraman with the ball. He's also taking fewer of them it seems. Korver's shot is not overrated at all.
Poe
I think an overrated shooter can fall under the lines of a "streak" shooter. A player who needs more touches to get his "shot going" before he starts shooting well, versus a player who will shoot roughly the same percentage at anytime no matter how many touches he had during that game. There are also players who only shoot when they are "hot" or "feeling it", inflating their field goal percentage to look like a player who shoots this well all the time. Like comparing Haslem and Beasley in midrange shooting, for example. You find Haslem open from midrange, you know he's going to have a high chance of knocking it down, whether he just entered the game, he missed his last 5 shots, or even made his past 5 shots - his chances are going to remain about the same since his midrange shot is pure. Beasley, on the other hand, won't likely make shots unless he's found his rhythm first from either shooting free throws or gained confidence from finishing inside, or when he's put in his comfort zone, which is either dribbling into his shot, or holding the ball and jab-stepping before shooting. So a guy like Mo Williams could be considered an overrated shooter, since he's streaky and needs his touches to gain confidence.
His Greatness
If guess he might fit but Kapono. He doesn't shoot it enough and him creating off the dribble is always a travel. It's like you read my mind.
