Anyone else trying to find a freaking job? Ive been looking, applying everywhere, even places with now hiring signs, ive applied at every company, Wal-Mart, Cinemark, AMC, Office Max, Home Depot, Lowes, Academy, Academy Warehouse, Big Lots, Sears, CVS Pharmacy, etc. Its horrible, someone could at least call at least once, even made my hours super flexible (entire day for saturday and sunday) and 1:30 in afternoon to close, srsly, if that doesnt work, im just gonna become a hitman or coke dealer.

Call them, and ask if they have had the chance to look over your application. Calling them back lets them know you're interested, and they may give you a second look. If you don't call them back, chances are they'll just toss your application into a pile and forget about it. When I was working at my old job, I got it by calling them back, several times in fact, and asking if they looked at my application yet. Sometimes you just have to pester them a bit.

I haven't gone back to either of the places I have applied at. I have thought about calling them but figured that wouldn't do any good since they probably have like 10485 other applications to look at. I think next time I apply somewhere I will call them back after a week or go into the store and personally ask someone.

I don't even bother going to the job fairs anymore because it's a two hour wait in line to answer like three questions and you never even get a call bacccccck.

Yeah, I just love Job Fairs. I went to one that White Water was having last year. I assume everyone know what White Water is but if you don't it is a water park. Anyways, It was supposed to start at 9 and end around 2 or 3 so I figured I would get there and bit early. I think I got there around 8:45 and I ended up standing outside in the rain for almost two hours. Then, once I managed to get inside there was probably about two or three hour wait just to get to the spot where you give all of your information. I ended up leaving since I didn't want to wait all day, plus they probably would've filled all of the positions by the time I got to the front of the line.

Damn dudes, I applied to one job and got hired and haven't looked back. It is a lot easier if you are applying at a place that is just opening because they hire almost everyone then can the dumbasses after. That is pretty much what happened for me.... also I think the only way you are going to get a job is if you say you can work all day every day pretty much...

Just make yourself available and follow up, idk about all places but my boss usually gives people calls after they call back and ask if he has had a chance to look over their resume. Also try and get hook ups with your friends, get them to put in a good word for you, just make sure you are worth it and don't make your friend look like an idiot for vouching for you.

no.................................

I either apply online or just get an application at the store.

Don't apply online, those almost never work. Least for most people. Just get an application from the manager, and turn it back in to the manager, should increase the odds greatly.

Dude also check Craigslist.

You'd be surprised there are small businesses that look for people on there.

Especially with the summer coming up you might be able to find like a landscaping company. Get in with the right one and you could make good dough and get a tan. haha

that is completely wrong. i went through the same job search last year and 9 out of 10 places only do online applications

i would go to the manager before i applied and tell them my situation, when i can work, etc, and asked if they have any job openings. some will say they are not currently hiring and others will say apply online. i then went and applied online, waited a few days then went back to the same manager and said that i applied and all that. i got a job at CVS like this. when i went back to the manager he scheduled an interview and i got the job, so easy

its not easy to find a job today, but just keep applying to places, you will find one eventually
