I hoping for the same, but don't want to jinx anything! I love our starting rotation, but if we're going to contend we're gonna need to get production from everybody in the lineup. Some of our guys are slowing down a bit I'm afraid, but that's life. I think Quentin is going to rebound this year, so I expect a lot of production from him. Pierre at the top should shake things up. But I'm worried about Konerko, Pierzynski, and Rios. Those 3 are key to success, I'd also like to see a step up in the defensive efforts this year too. I find it funny that people think 28 year old Peavy isn't going to be dominant.

However they are all very high-quality pitchers.

You lost your top HR hitter from last year. I know my stuff and I know more than you, why are the Mariners going to be good, because of Figgins? Phightins
The Mariners improved no doubt about it, but they don't look like a World Series contender to me, basically for the reasons Fish mentioned. It seems like a lot of Mariners fans think that since they improved, they are now better than the elite AL teams. I just don't see it. I actually have them finishing 3rd in that division. Haha...they picked the Mets to win the World Series last year. But really, the Mets do not look very good on paper, but games are not played on paper. I certainly hope they suck again but nothing would surprise me.

Team looks solid on paper, few holes but every team has holes, again it's all about staying healthy.
