Built Ford Tough
The Toronto Raptors have paid the price for sticking their noses into the action as they battle for the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association – and now have two broken beaks to show for it. The club said Thursday that Turkish-born forward Hedo Turkoglu’s status is “day-to-day” after suffering a small, new non-displaced fracture when his face collided with the head of Boston guard Tony Allen during the first quarter of Wednesday's 115-104 loss to the Boston Celtics at the Air Canada Centre. A CT scan performed at Toronto’s Mount Sinai Hospital revealed the fracture, but the good news was that that scan showed “no significant displacement, and no skull or midface injuries,” the Raptor statement said. Turkoglu has already missed time this season with a fractured orbital bone under his right eye. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/basketball/turkoglu-day-to-day-with-facial-fracture/article1527747/ So does this mean that Calderon will get a fractured nose tomorrow night against Atlanta? Wait, who am I kidding, that would require Calderon to stick his nose into a battle for a loose ball or something and we all know that will never happen.
