Multi-Billionaire
The only sure matchup revealed so far... Interesting... what is Lakers fans take on this? Thunder are hella good... but they seem to have cooled off a little down the stretch. I would like to see this go to 7 games and Lakers exhausted
kingfish
Sweep imo. Thunder are too young plus Artest can at least NEUTRALIZE Durant over the course of a 7 game series. They dont have the bigs to match up with us either, it will be inside the paint scoring all day. And if the rest actually does Kobe some good, then its really going to be a sweep. Owner Real Deal Posted April 13, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted April 13, 2010 It's a series win, not really worried at all. There's too much size in Los Angeles. I'm just pissed because the Thunder won't be going past the first round, like I wanted.
The Regime
We'll take them in 5, as Brandon said the Thunder don't have an answer for our bigs. Still Artest vs. Durant will be a really fun matchup to watch, the early challange should get him going.
Warren2ThaG
Expecting it to go 6 games, Kobe will indeed struggle.
Poe
The Kobe-Durant match up could make this series interesting. That's all there really is to look forward to, we all know who's winning this one.
SRT Spidey
a great first round match, we get to see kobe vs durant early. I think the Thunder will take atleast one at home but the Lakers are just way too much for these young guys, they have a promising future though. Lakers win 4-
The Regime
Also speaking of good matchups how about Kobe vs. Thabo. I expect Kobe to have a quiet series, Thabo has played him well this season.
Owner Real Deal Posted April 13, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted April 13, 2010 I wouldn't be surprised if Kobe is limited the entire series. Not only is he injured, but Thabo is a top defensive player in the NBA. THAT may lead to a Lakers doomsday...but I won't go that far and predict it against the Thunder. Lemon
Great matchup. We have a good chance to win, but more importantly the Thunder will force our team to play better. Now that sounds obvious, but with a solid defensive SG, good team defense, and 2 explosive scorers, the Thunder will really make us have to improve our overall game. The Thunder are capable of an upset, but out of the bottom 3 in the west they're less likely to upset than the Spurs but more so than Portland. moeroadkill
going out on a limb and saying 4-3 thunder! Kobe is playing like trash and ill be praying he still is trash come playoffs, a trashy Kobe playing against the Kobe stopper results in 9 turnovers green will manhandle Gasol Westbrook will burn the old fart Durant doesn't really have much trouble with artest on a real note i think it could go to 6 or even 7 games this last few games have really exposed thunder and they are lost on offense in the 4th if Durant inst bailing them out. send a double on durant and u will have successes Edited April 13, 2010 by MoeRoadKill
Vitasoy
Lakers couldn't get a better match up in the first round. Lakers SHOULD sweep.
Smitty
Will be rooting for the underdog Thunder in this one, but yeah...Lakers will win this series in 5 at least.
Sħãlïq™
The only sure matchup revealed so far...What if Dallas beat the Spurs and OKC win vc. Memphis in the season's finale? SAS and OKC will be tied at 50 wins. Tiebreaker.. Head-2-head matchup? Edited April 13, 2010 by Shaliq

ManOnTheMoon
This will be one great series, but im pissed because i wanted the Thunder to go farther..this one i can see going to 6-7 either way.
YugoRocketsFan
I could see Lakers struggling vs a fast/athletic team and Russell Westbrook could abuse Fisher. BTW, Kingfish, you cant neutralize Durant, hes too slim, and he has the longest arms ever Edit: Sefolosha also will be defending Kobe too, omg.. CaliCurbStomppa
A shame Thunder gotta play the best team in West but i believe they can make a run next year i have no doubt about that.
Cleveland's Finest
Even thought they have the star in Durant, I felt this team had the worst chance of the 3 possible 8 seeds against LA. I know the Lakers will win this. Hopefully it's a classic. I want to see 7 games.
Legacy
Durant vs Bryant will be a fun match-up for sure. Let's go Thunder! Upset!

They may have played us good that last game, but the truth is, a playoff series is for real, and we'd have Bynum back.

Owner Real Deal Posted April 14, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted April 14, 2010 Blazers would bring us 6 or 7 even without Roy, know your stuff.LOL, please. Truth is, we could rest Kobe the entire series and still beat them. With Roy, it would go six or seven, because playing in Portland would be a mess...but without Roy, it's five games max. After having to play us three consecutive times, the Blazers would be toast.

Even without if would go the distance. You think Portland is nothing? They have so much talent you don't even know, even with the injuries. The additions of Miller/Camby/Juwan actually mean something, playoffs. I wouldn't be surprised if we lose in the 1st round to OKC if Kobe still keeps playing like he's on meth or something. Not in the West. And with that said, you can't expect them to last seven games against the same team, two days apart between games, without playing other teams in between. It's easier to beat the Lakers in the regular season. The season isn't worthless, but the playoffs are a different beast. It would suck for any West team to have to play the Lakers at least four times in a row.
