Lkr
Jets are stacked. They improved their passing game but had a setback at the running back position. Their defense is better.Dolphins have Brandon Marshall now, who will improve their throwing and running gamePatriots are declining but still a very dangerous team The only divisions that I think provide competition as the best are AFC South(Indy, Houston, Tennessee), AFC North(although Pittsburgh is sketchy, Cleveland is horrendous, and Cincinnati is questionable), and the NFC North if the Bears are good this year
NomarFachix
The Jets running game, if the offensive line doesn't regress, is just as good as last year... If not better.

Lkr
Also, NFCE > NFCN, AFCNDallas is the best team in the NFC East, and they can't beat the top teams in the NFCN. Philly is gonna be worse than mediocre and NYG is mediocre until that defense improves. Pittsburgh and Baltimore have proven themselves, and Cincinnati is close to becoming a really big threat
NomarFachix
Losing Thomas Jones and adding LT is a bit of a setback imo Shonn Green can more than make up for Jones' workhorse/4.2 YPC departure, and LT gives them a legit 3rd down back who can catch passes out of the backfield, which they lacked. They have a more complete backfield, and one that is younger (Green) and won't break down as quickly as Jones did.

Thomas Jones had a better season last year than Brandon Jacobs; are you telling me the Giants running game would be just as good, if not better if they lost Jacobs? Philly is gonna be worse than mediocre and NYG is mediocre until that defense improves. Pittsburgh and Baltimore have proven themselves, and Cincinnati is close to becoming a really big threat So you asked for opinions just so that you could immediately shoot them down? Cool, bro. Just wanted to give my opinion on what I felt the best (most competitive?) division is. Last year the NFCE was 2nd in wins (34, behind only the AFCS, with 38) and I don't see the NFCN improving at all this offseason, especially with Favre still in lingo. You're all over the place here, saying Pitt has proven themselves, when they've done nothing but regress this offseason. Are you aiming for "what did you do last year?" or "what did you improve this offseason?" I'm not sure you have a constant theme going. bigdog17k
Jets did take a hit at RB, no denying that. But I think Green is good, and they won't have too much trouble running this season.

Stat whores are fun people to argue with. Jones was a product of their offensive line, which is one of the, if not THE, best in the league. If you don't think Shonn Green can average 4.2 yards over the course of a season, you haven't watched much Jets football. I hear the same thing from football fans outside the area, and I give them all the same response. If the Jets running game regresses this year, I'll be ready to eat crow. Believe me, I doubt it happens without an injury.

NomarFachix
You're vastly overrating Shonn Greene, dude and then underrating Jones. Can you underrate someone with a 4.0 career YPC? That's average for a starter.
NomarFachix
Last year Jones was 2nd in the NFL in rushes and 28th in the NFL in yards per attempt. Just FYI.

Flash
Not to mention. Greene fumbled more than Jones did while Jones had over 200 more carries than him.

Jones' career YPC take a hit because he played in the black holes known as Arizona and Chicago.
NomarFachix
I guess Adrian Peterson is average too. He averaged 4.4 YPC. His career average is 4.9, but even if we go with the one year selected 4.4... over 300 carries that equates to a 120 yard difference over 4.0, and a 60 yard difference over 4.2. Lkr
I love how you call me a stat whore and all you go with is YPC Average. And because I asked for opinions, I can't debate it?Thomas Jones has been a beast in Chicago and New York, and for some reason he always has to prove himself again. Brandon Jacobs was a product of the great OLine the Giants had 2 years ago, and now that they are getting worse, he's worse. The stats say so, so you can't prove me wrong. Like the logic you're using?
Flash
You are making excuses. How? Arizona was so great they won a total of 16 games in the 3 years he played there. The fact is, Jones was great in New York. His last 2 seasons there were excellent productivity wise.

I was talking about using total yardage as a measuring stick, which I figured was obvious. I guess not. Jacobs was a product of the great Giants O-Line and last year Jacobs was injured and the line regressed. I won't argue that for a second. His being 2nd string on such a weak team and being cut to give Greene the feature should tell you what I've been trying to.
