Poe
Well, at least the Bucks gave them a scare. That's actually a good thing for the Hawks, keeps them focused.

Jenneral
We've got to pick it up if we plan on winning more than a game against Orlando in the next round. Finishing games out has been one of the biggest problems for us all season.I wouldn't be talking about the next round just yet.

Jenneral
Aside from the first quarter, we proved that we can play with these guys. Don't be surprised if this ends up being a 7 game series. A few players stepped up in the 2nd half besides Jennings, including Salmons and Ilyasova. I'm really confused as to why Skiles left Jennings out for so long. He essentially iced him as he only hit 1 shot in the entire 4th quarter after being benched for five minutes. Not a smart move at all considering he was nailing every shot and was keeping us in contention. I'm really curious as to what his reasoning for that was. Cobb
We're just inconsistent, yet we can still win despite it.
Jenneral
We're just inconsistent, yet we can still win despite it.We were the definition of inconsistent today. We were outscored by 17 to start the game. That's usually not a good thing.

I guess I should just say we're inconsistent when it comes to closing out games.
Jenneral
I guess I should just say we're inconsistent when it comes to closing out games.Yeah... in the final 3 minutes you guys had a lot of turnovers. But it really didn't matter since Joe Johnson hit every unthinkable shot in the game. It was seriously irritating me.

It's really annoying to watch them play when they play like this, especially after how well they played in the first half.

I thought we'd be beat by 30+ to be honest.

Jenneral
The Hawks built a 17-point lead in the first quarter and held on 102-92 to beat the Bucks in Game 1 of their first-round series. Brandon Jennings scored 34 points for the Bucks, the fourth highest scoring total for a rookie in his playoff debut. Joe Johnson led the Hawks with 22 points and seven rebounds and Josh Smith added 12 points and 10 assists. Atlanta shot 53.9% from the field and went 6-for-11 from three-point land. Milwaukee had a 12-point edge in the second half as they crawled back into the game.
Owner Real Deal Posted April 18, 2010 Author Owner Report Share Posted April 18, 2010 Did Jennings do something wrong to piss Skiles off? Why did he sit him through some of the most important sections of the game? It is what it is...felt like it was bad coaching, really. The Bucks probably didn't have a shot to begin with, after the Hawks went nuts, but Jennings would've at least given his teammates hope out there, and could've started the rally that they desperately needed. I think Atlanta let their foot off the gas a bit, though, thinking the game was over. Can't really do that. It's too bad Bogut isn't on the court. Jenneral
Did Jennings do something wrong to piss Skiles off? Why did he sit him through some of the most important sections of the game?Yeah, I really don't know. At one point (close to that time), Jennings appeared to be limping but it was only for a short period of time and didn't seem too serious. When a player is that hot and is essentially 99% of your offense, you never take them out. Leave him in until he cools off, when he's in that mental state and that zone he doesn't need a breather. It was ridiculous. We probably wouldn't have won either way but at least he was fun to watch until he cooled off. He was the only thing keeping our team together (kind of ironic that a 20-year old rookie was the only one ready to play) so it was tough to see him sitting out. You could see that he was frustrated with the decision as well. Oh well, let's take game 2.
