ChosenOne
Fisher Not Planning On Retirement Derek Fisher is 35 and doesn't have a contract beyond this season with the Lakers. Fisher's thoughts are on helping the Lakers win consecutive championships, on playing his best to help the cause. "I put aside as far as me thinking this could be it in terms of my last postseason playing basketball," Fisher said. "I know for sure that's not true. "This is the last year on my contract. I know I want to play basketball after this. I will play basketball as long as somebody is willing to offer me a job. But that doesn't mean that it's going to be on a team that can win a championship. "So, from that perspective now is the only thing that matters. You can't think about next year. You can't think about the past. It's just about right now."Read more: http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/66067/20100419/fisher_not_planning_on_retirement/#ixzz0lZY1pqzl Edited April 19, 2010 by ChosenOne

The Regime
Do you laker fans want him back next year? If he's willing to come off the bench, then maybe.

The Regime
Would Phil ever bench him though? That's the problem, Phil is absolutely obsessed with Fish. I don't think Phil will have much of an option if we land someone better in free agency (which shouldn't be hard at all). ManOnTheMoon
Good for him, but we need to bench him.
His Greatness
Interesting stat I saw the other day on HoopData: Fisher is shooting the worst percentage (39.5%) at the rim of any player that's played more than 40 games.

He comes barreling into the paint and chucks up a shot that has no chance of going in. I wouldn't mind having him back, but as long as he's coming off the bench. Owner Real Deal Posted April 20, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted April 20, 2010 Bench or assistant coach next season. I can't take him starting and playing big minutes anymore.
Sky
Do you laker fans want him back next year? God no, but he will be. If Jackson returns so will Fisher. Phil has his faves and the organization is very loyal. I can also see LA having post-career plans for Fisher as another reason to keep him. No secret Fisher is the worst finisher in the league, he has been for the past eight years. If Orlando makes the final and wins it then Jameer incinerating Fisher will be the reason why. xx.
Worst starting PG in the league.
