Poe
Who are your top 5 current players you would like to have coaching you? My list:1. Jason Kidd2. Kobe Bryant3. Steve Nash4. Andre Miller5. Manu Ginobili I chose guards because I'm a guard. It wouldn't be as useful to have Tim Duncan coaching me, since my post game isn't as important for a player like me. Poe
Would never want Ginobili coaching me haha.. rest of the list sounds goodThe point is to post your own list. I only put Ginobili there because his playstyle is somewhat similar to mine.

Erick Blasco
The thing with Kobe, it was one of the problems with Jordan with the Wizards, he seems too demanding where if you make mistakes, he'd probably crush your psyche. Duncan might not have the personality to coach, and Miller is too introverted. I'd say Nash, Ginobili, Ray Allen, Grant Hill, and Kevin Ollie. Owner Real Deal Posted April 26, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted April 26, 2010 1) Kobe Bryant2) Tim Duncan These two above everyone else, because they are the two most knowledgeable and complete players over the last decade of basketball. As a guard, I'd want to learn everything possible from Bryant, and Duncan would help me with my post play and post defense. Contested shots, splitting the doubles, ball-handling, attacking the basket, mental toughness, footwork, everything I can get from Kobe. 3) Jason Kidd My secondary position is point guard, and I'd want Kidd coaching me. He's an excellent defensive player at the point, top five point guard of all-time, and his passing is right there with Nash's. 4) Grant Hill I'd learn how to play through injuries, train and become more durable, and maximize my talent when I'm older. Plus, he's a good defensive player at the three, and he's a damn good teammate in both a limited role and a significantly large role. 5) Ray Allen Strictly shooting. He would help me at the three and at the charity stripe.
BlueDevil
this is a really interesting topic. Id take Kobe- all around knowledge and would be huge in crunch timeBattier- unbelievable defense, great knowledgeAllen- shooting, and how to pick your spotsKevin Love- think he has a very high IQ and as he grows older, his knack for rebounding and post play could make him a great coachKidd- great passer and rebounder/defender at the guard position
kingfish
1. Kobe (obviously )2. Stephen Curry3. Chauncey Billups4. Manu Ginobili5. Joe Johnson I wish Manu was a right hander, he would be number 1 on my list.
Poe
I wish Manu was a right hander, he would be number 1 on my list. That shouldn't be a bad factor. If anything, that will make you better with your left hand, and when defenders are coached to force right-handed players to their left, I think getting better with your left is more valuable than getting better with your right. Poe
The thing with Kobe, it was one of the problems with Jordan with the Wizards, he seems too demanding where if you make mistakes, he'd probably crush your psyche. As a player, you don't evaluate a coach by how demanding they are. If anything, the more demanding the better, at least in most cases I can think of. But overall, the more tools a coach gives you to become a better player, the better the coach. Kobe easily has one of the best all-around knowledge of the game out of any player in the league, if not the very best. Duncan might not have the personality to coach, and Miller is too introverted.Well, you don't really know which players have the personality to coach. For all we know, Timmy could become an assistant coach after he retires, like Kareem and Ewing. I picked Miller because of his ability to be so affective even though he isn't that fast or athletic in comparison to other NBA players. A player like that has to have a lot of knowledge of the game. Working on your left hand layups is definitely key to getting better and since Manu is left handed that should be a big plus for you man. I've worked on my left hand a little bit and it definitely helps when driving in and having to change your shot.

htownborn
1. Kobe Bryant (Kobe has he's mind focused on one thing and thats winning and everyone wants to be one.)2. Steve Nash (He's a very smart player on the court and makes great decisions)3. Tim Duncan (H can teach me the fundementals of the game)4. Kevin Garnett (He has passion for the game of basketball like no one I have seen in recent years.)5. Shaquille O'Neal (This was kind of a hard one for me but I picked Shaq pretty much the same reason I picked Kobe, becuase he's always determined to win and get more than what he has.)
