Dash
Amaré Stoudemire and the Suns have re-initiated contract talks. The two sides are getting nearer to a financial agreement though nothing is imminent. The Suns made a new proposal to Stoudemire as recently as last week and a source close to the player said "they're getting closer to where they should be." The team is reportedly now determined to retain Stoudemire. Link Would be HUGE is the Suns can get Amare extended and will cause a few teams to start scrambling. At least I might get one FA prediction right. Edited April 24, 2010 by Dash

Flash
Thought Amare wanted Miami? Guess not. The only time people said that was under the impression he would leave Phoenix. Not even you can say that until recently you thought Amare was going to stay in Phoenix. He still hasn't signed anything either so nothing is set in stone just like the whole Wade thing. Amare hasn't come out and said anything. If you click those links a good 75% of the people in the prediction thread had Amare going to Miami because we were all lead to believe that he wasn't staying in Phoenix. What did I say that was so far-fetched? That Riley wanted Bosh or Stoudemire? He does lol I don't know what's so hard to grasp about that concept. God forbid you have faith in your teams front office lol.
Owner Real Deal Posted April 25, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted April 25, 2010 All I'm saying is that, with all the belief that Riley will get his man (whoever that is, guess it'll be Boozer now?), there isn't much telling me that Wade will want to stay in Miami, especially after they lose this first-round series. But you guys used the "Riley excuse" and said that he will bring in help. Doesn't look like it will be Amare. Don't think a Boozer signing will convince Wade. Maybe LeBron to Miami now? Cleveland's Finest
This is why I said Boozer to Miami. Or it could be a Beasley/Amare swap via FA. But Boozer to Miami seems the most likely. The Suns have a great future and it's all Amare has known. I can't see Amare playing second fiddle to D Wade. He knows if he stays in Phoenix he'll be the franchise player. I still believe we can get Amare. What else does Wade have to say that indicates that he wants to stay? If we bring in a couple nice pieces I don't see anyway he doesn't want to re-sign. Its not just one of those guys. Miami is going to have money for a max and another high-caliber player. I'm starting to think you just want to see Wade gone and in a Bulls uni because all we do is post links backing up our comments like the "My heart is in Miami" and "Miami may have just taken control of Free Agency" but of course no one mentions those. We'll see what happens this summer and if we do strike out then fine, I'll come and eat my crow. But until then, I have no reason to not have faith in Riley and our organization. The Heat are in a different conference, and the Bulls aren't even my second favorite team anymore. I think it would be smart of Wade to join Rose, Noah, Deng and Hinrich, but it's whatever. The links you post...that's nice and all, but do you really think Wade would say otherwise? Not even Boozer is doing that. LeBron has hinted that he's staying, and so has Bosh, Boozer, Amare, and even Johnson...but can you really say you believe every single one of them? No need to get upset that people ignore those links. The truth is, they really don't mean much until the player signs that contract. If he was a true veteran and had about 12-13 seasons and multiple championships with the same team, it would be more convincing...but Miami isn't going anywhere, and it's looking more and more like it's Bosh or bust, really. How many of those guys have said oh, my hearts in Cleveland or Toronto etc.
Cleveland's Finest
LeBron doesn't dance around the questions. He made it clear a few games into the season he wouldn't answer questions pertaining to the free agency and would only focus on the season at hand. Fair enough but he hasn't answered any questions about it which is fine, and actually may be the best way to go about it. My whole point is that Wade went out of his way to say these things when he didn't have to. That has to be a good sign for Miami fans.
