Well its exactly the same, although Rockets stole 1 home game, and Lakers stole one home game too.

 

Lakers got the blowout for game 5, Thunder win by 10 in Game 6 and then Lakers win by 15+ in game 7

I think thats just sad how the refs are.. should be like even .. lose some bad calls at home and get some on the road to average it

 

I actually did not see many calls go one way, I missed the first couple of minutes of the game so maybe then. I just think Durant was scared to say (lol Moe is going to kill me) he did not drive he did not help on defense like usual all he was doing was taking open shots or passing the ball. He really never made artest play defense for more than a couple of dribbles, at home he really challenged Artest to stay up with him.

 

But the biggest game deciding factor was the Kobe's defense on Westbrook he did not let him drive and him not getting in the paint really killed this game.

I think some calls were missed in detriment to the Thunder. Especially in the first quarter, the Thunder made an effort to attack the bigs. They attacked and got nothing. Whether or not they were blocking fouls i dunno but the calls are definitely inconsistent with what was being called in Oklahoma.

That is why teams play for homecourt it is an advantage no matter what people say

 

Take for example the Denver Jazz last game. Melo made a no call offensive foul (good call) but the fans got mad and started yelling at the ref (i forget who it was) but 2 seconds later in that same play Melo spins into Williams not even touching him and Williams falls gettng the offensive foul called on Melo. Complete BS even the announcers called it homecourt advantage.

Everyone who watched the game last night knows LA was at the rim and more aggressive than they have ever been...so it makes sense that they finally get to the line...but I don't see the home-cooking everyone else seems to have seen in those first two games...yet, those two in OKC look really weird.

People were all over Westbrook getting hit at the start of the game, but apparently, they don't watch Kobe when he drives to the rim. He gets bumped quite a bit, with no calls...and as Lakers fans, we are all immune to it now, and when others complain about their players, we just sit back and shake our heads.

 

There are two reasons why Kobe drives less. One is because of his loss of athleticism (and the injuries he has right now), and the other is because he doesn't get the calls he deserves. Hell, he gets more calls on his jumpers that have less contact than his drives to the rim.

 

Plus, Gasol gets murdered down low quite a bit, and still nothing. Not the case all the time, but it happens here and there.

Haha good point, he does get more calls on jumpshots than when he drives and gets hit.. its weird.

I'm just referring to Durant not getting as many free throws at LA compared to being at OKC. I'm not saying the refs helped the Lakers at all.. it's just an observation.

Now that was Lakers basketball. It took us 5 games to show it.

 

Kobe shut Westbrook down last night. It got the point where Westbrook couldn't hit his free throws anymore. I'm still lol'ing at the play when Westbrook stole the ball and had a open fastbreak dunk but opted to pass when he saw Kobe coming. Gotta give Kobe mad props, he volunteered to guard Westbrook, and once again made a statement why he is one of the best defensive guards in the league. Also did anyone hear Kobe's comments after the game, he said he could drop 45-50 points easily if he wanted lol.

 

Pau and Bynum controlled the paint, as they should have all series. Pau especially did an excellent job finishing around the rim. He actually took the Thunder bigs off the dribble a couple times as well which I haven't seen him do this series. The Thunder didn't no who to double team, if they doubled Bynum then Pau made them pay and vise versa when they doubled Pau.

 

Also it was about time that Artest knocked down open shots. We need more consistency out of him. He should just stick with that shaved head look.

 

The officiating was good last night, no big time free throw discrepancy. I'll look forward to that in Game 6.

You do know that Kobe told Phil he was defending Westbrook, right?

 

Kobe and the big men deserve the credit. It was Bryant who took out Westbrook (who has been dominating us in the series) and he spoon-fed the big men, who were FINALLY running to the rim and getting buckets with dunks and oops, the way bigs are supposed to play. Because of that, they also rebounded very, very well and finally played the defense they needed to play.

 

Phil would've let Fisher defend Westbrook again, had Kobe kept quiet.
