Cobb
If ratings are indicative of a city's interest in a team then Dallas is sure losing patience with the Mavericks playoff quest against San Antonio. Could it be the team's deteriorating play and effort in falling behind the Spurs 1-3 in the best-of-seven series? Probably. Game 1, the Mavericks lone win, scored a combined 13.1 rating on Channel 21 and TNT. Game 2 scored a 10.0 Game 3, Channel 21 and ESPN, scored a 9.9. Now the early numbers are trickling in for last night's Game 4, which was on Channel 21 and TNT. Looks like the key game managed just an 8.5. To sum up: The audience plummeted from 332,740 homes at the optimistic start of the playoffs to 215,900 homes for Sunday's Game 4. Be careful out there. Make sure you don't get hit by a bandwagon jumper. Dallas Morning News Surprise? Not so much.
