fish7718
The accent has nothing to do with the fact that the production sucked, the content is garbage and his flows really aren't as good as people make them out to be. Literally about two songs have any playback value on them, Underground and Medicine Ball, and even at that they vaguely even represent the talent Eminem once displayed on the MMLP.Those, in my opinion, were 2 of the worst songs on the album lmao. Guess we just have different taste in music. Only I prefer not to troll.
kadillak
Yeah, Relapse overall was pretty terrible, IMO, and it wasn't just the accent. He offered little meaning and substance throughout the majority of it. Wayne did used to be able produce songs with meaning or a story, but he really hasn't done that well since TCII. Only songs with much substance recently were "Tie My Hands" off TCIII, Paradice off "Rebirth", his featured verse on Nas & Damian Marley's "My Generation" off Distant Relatives, and maybe his featured verse off of Jae Millz's "In The City". Em's flow on Beautiful was mad nice and the lyrics were on point. That was def the best song on the CD, Not Afraid was good as well.

Check my Stats
It is a better display of lyricism than any song on that album by far, that is all I was saying. Also Medicine Ball was trash. Eminem's content has always been suspect, so complaining about his shock rap now is kind of dumb. I agree Relapse was a lot more vulgar and vile than his older albums, not nearly as witty and funny or creative, but his content is still pretty comparable, save a few of the song talking about rape, like Stay Wide Awake or Insane (smh) lol... I've never been a fan of Eminem's content so I've always been critiquing it. Though Infinite is far from his best album, I would say that it has my favorite content of any of his CD's. That's strange considering a few days ago you were saying how you don't like Eminem's battle rap style, yet Infinite is largely pure battle rap (Infinite, 313, Open Mic, and even some of the other songs with more direction had that same style). Nitro
I'd love to see the quote on that. Infinite wasn't all battle rap, but that depends on your definition. You said- This, like his ‘Drop The World’ and ‘Forever’ verses, is just regular battle rap Eminem sprinkled with emotional platitudes. He puts on his serious face and raps intensely about vaguely somber or inspiring stuff. There’s no narrative, no truth. Just ‘[expletive] the world, feed it beans.’ Your criticism of those verses and his Despicable freestyle (not a real freestyle, just battle-rap Eminem as well) should apply to Infinite just as much if not even more. If you are going to make me quote you, please quote me where I said Infinite was all battle rap. I didn't. I said it was largely battle rap, and I stand by that. Even in songs like Tonite, where he keeps a certain tone and the chorus conveys a message, the actual verses are pure battle rap style. Much like his Drop the World and Forever verses. That was quoted from an article. I don't look at much of Infinite as true battle rap as Eminem pretty much jacked most MC's of that age styles to form his own - not really being himself obviously. His true style as seen later in his career is one of an immature MC who's story telling is hit or miss.

First off if you're gonna quote an article and say the author '[expletive]ted on us' then you better be ready to back up his POV. Secondly, every great rapper has used the tools they learned from other rappers before them. If you're going to say Eminem jacked most MC's, then you have to say Nas jacked Rakim, Papoose jacked Kool G Rap, and it goes on and on. I will say, though, that Eminem has always had one of the most unique rap styles and flows out there. No one is better with wordplay and using the pronunciation of words to advantage than Em. Some said Em's flow and style in Infinite jacked Nas and AZ, but I really don't see it at all.
