SRV
What happens if you are throwing the ball in, and it goes in the hoop? I did it in PE by accident and nobody knew what to do..whose ball would it be?
Owner Real Deal Posted April 30, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted April 30, 2010 What happens if you are throwing the ball in, and it goes in the hoop? I did it in PE by accident and nobody knew what to do..whose ball would it be?Turnover, I believe. It definitely wouldn't count. The team has to have possession of the ball before a bucket is scored, obviously. I'll have to do some research on that.
Flash
Can I ask how the hell you made a pass into the hoop lol Edited April 30, 2010 by Flash
SRV
Well some kid on my team was like 6'6 so I threw him a lob from out of bounds, but it went in the hoop. He can't dunk because he is an O-Line man for football and he is kind of fat, but he wanted to try it.
moeroadkill
yeah a turnover and its their ball from where ever you threw it. iv seen it done from a side ball at half court and the refs waived to off

Celtics3420
Didn't this happen in an NBA game? But yeah, it's a turnover. Edited April 30, 2010 by Celtics3420
Cobb
I'm assuming it's a turnover since everyone else is saying that but I found it extremely funny how you actually made it into the hoop while throwing the ball in.
ballorama
I'm pretty sure J-Kidd did this when he was trying to throw a lob to VC one tme a few years ago?but i would expect it to be a turnover.

Jammin
Another question: If you are throwing a lob from out of bounds, and it looks like it's going in and someone dunks it down, would it be considered cylinder interference? If it's not a shot than who is to say?
alcstarheel
Another question: If you are throwing a lob from out of bounds, and it looks like it's going in and someone dunks it down, would it be considered cylinder interference? If it's not a shot than who is to say?I don't think it's interference for these same reasons. Since no one had possession it isn't necessarily a shot attempt. We'd have to check the rules on that, though.
