Divisional Forums for Other Sports?

Baseball and football divisional forums? Enough activity for hockey divisionals?

Hockey really only has two teams that get a lot of posting (Flyers, Canadiens) and you can add Bruins when ECN posts. So no there.

 

Yes to football because in the AFC North alone each team has a couple fans.

 

Baseball is tough. I'd side with no but an AL, NL split could work.

Undecided on baseball. Do we have enough activity in baseball for us to have divisional forums? If so, then yes...but if not, then no.

If you're going to do it for one, do it for them all. So my vote is no. The only sub-forums worthy of having are individual team forums. Divisional forums suck sh-t.

I voted yes for baseball and football, no for hockey. I can count the number of hockey doods on one hands, but baseball and football have enough followers to utilize the pages.

I vote no for all, but if there was going to be an exception, it would be football.

 

We already tried the whole experiment with a separate forum for football, and unfortunately that failed, and I think there were more members then as well.

 

If we can somehow get at least 10-15 more active members, then I think it may work for football, but definitely not for anything else.

It would be really nice, but as everyone is saying it is probably a waste of time. I think it could definitely work for football and baseball, but it's a stretch. And OTR Football already failed. As ECN mentioned, if we get 10 or so more regular contributors to each of those forums, divisional forums could absolutely work.

Football would work, I don't think hockey or baseball would be active. Organization is nice though. I think an AL and NL forum for baseball would work. Hockey season is almost over anyway

It would be too many sub forums with not a lot of activity. I like how it is now with just one forum for broad discussion. That's enough imo. Maybe a thread for each division?

If we do get a baseball divisional forum I'll definitely be up to posting a lot more in it.

I'd say no. It would make the forums look less active than they might actually be. We're a basketball site and to be honest, sometimes forums look dead here. Imagine how it could look for a secondary sport that's out of season without any fans here? It would be terrible.

OTR Basketball. The reason I like this forum is because it is mainly basketball and not cluttered with all the other sports I am not interested in.

On second thought, I actually like it the way it is. Football is probably the second most discussed sport on this forum, but we don't get enough discussion to make divisional forums.

We've had gameday threads and a couple of great draft threads for football, so I'd say yes there. The baseball forum already has quite a few team threads, so I think it would be pretty neat if we just create an AL forum and an NL forum, and we'll have 30 team threads in the two forums. I don't watch hockey, so I shouldn't be saying no when there are members who do follow it. Creating these forums can be another reason for a member to make the decision to join.
