Built Ford Tough
The Grizzlies could look complete a sign-and-trade involving restricted free agent forward Rudy Gay if they don't re-sign him outright. Teams can discuss sign-and-trade scenarios prior to July 1, when the free agent signing period begins, as long as discussions don't include the player(s) involved. Memphis hasn't discussed any scenarios, but a sign-and-trade remains an option. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/66614/20100516/grizzlies_might_sign_and_trade_rudy_gay/#ixzz0oDvJo5Ik I don't really know how close the two parties are in terms of an extension or anything like that, but I never really got the impression that Gay would be back in Memphis next season and I can definitely see the Grizzlies moving him in a sign-and-trade situation during the summer rather than losing him for nothing. What are the chances that Gay is in Memphis next season, and if he isn't back, what kind of sign-and-trade scenarios can you see happening? Jammin
Honestly, if Amare doesn't sign back I see the Suns making a push for Gay + Another $8-10M/year player.
Newman
Do the Grizzlies really need anybody in particular? To me they are like OKC, all the holes are filled and all they need now is upgrades. I can't think of any straight swap for Gay on the top of my head right now so I think that the Grizz will trade him for some role players + picks. Klashnekoff
If the Nets can grab Turner on draft night then i think we should make a push for Rudy Gay and also look to fill that PF spot with someone like Bosh, David Lee or Boozer.
