Bleed Green
Most expect Joe Johnson to accept the Hawks six-year max offer for about $119 million. However, that may not be the case, according to ESPN.com's Chris Sheridan. Sheridan writes: "Sources said Johnson was still considering whether it would be a better career move to play in New York or Chicago, and his ultimate decision would hinge upon which of the top free agents make commitments to those teams. Derek Fisher is asking for a two-year, $10 million contract from the Lakers, but they want to pay a lot less. In fact, Ramona Shelburne of ESPNLosAngeles.com reported the Lakers are only offering a one-year deal for about $2.5 million. Fisher wants to stay with the Lakers, but he does have options if something can't be worked out. Shelburne writes: "Source said that several teams, including the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers, have expressed a strong interest in Fisher, believing 'he'll be the final piece to a championship.'" The Lakers need a point guard, and they will be adding one once free agents are able to sign contracts July 8. Steve Blake announced on a radio station in Portland that he's agreed to terms with the Lakers on a four-year contract. The total value of the deal is $16 million. The Lakers are lacking depth at the point guard spot since Jordan Farmar and Derek Fisher are free agents. Entering free agency Dwyane Wade was thought to be a lock to re-sign with Miami, but that assumption has been quashed after the All-Star had a second meeting with the Chicago Bulls. ESPN.com's Chad Ford reported Wade went into Friday's session leaning toward signing with Chicago but did not agree to a deal. However, he is intrigued about playing for his hometown team. Several reports had Chris Bosh joining in on the meeting with the Bulls along with their agent, Henry Thomas. Amare Stoudemire is expected to sign a deal with the Knicks on Thursday or Friday. Once that's done, the focus could turn to Spurs point guard Tony Parker. According to Frank Isola of the New York Daily News, a source said Stoudemire and Parker would be an ideal matchup. "It's perfect for Tony because he wants to be in New York and he wants to play with Amare," the source told Isola. Parker still has one more season on his contract, so the only way to get him to New York is via trade. One potential scenario could have David Lee going to San Antonio for Parker via a sign-and-trade. All reported on ESPN's rumor mill this morning. Riot
You know what I just thought of? It seems that LeBron would want to go to the Nets since that team might have a whole new image within the next couple years. Since they'll be going to Brooklyn and changing the name of the team. It could be like this new place for LeBron to become the face of a franchise.
