Wade: There's No Rift With Riley

Dwyane Wade says that his relationship with Heat president Pat Riley is fine, despite the lack of a long-term commitment from either side.

Riley says that Miami needs a commitment from Wade before the club begins putting pieces around him, while Wade wants to see that the team is set up to contend before signing on the dotted line.

"Coach Riley opened up the wound when he said, 'Until Dwyane signs back, we can't do anything,' " Wade told the Miami Herald on Thursday. "But me and Pat Riley are not against each other. We both want the same thing. We're just in two different positions."

Hey D, how bout you sign the extension so Riles can go to work. Has Riley ever let the Heat down before? He's always come through and his moves let us get the chance to win a ring. Stop inflating the ego and sign the extension.

^^^ Well, as much as I want Wade to sign, I think Wade is just looking out for himself. He wants to win, and wants to make sure the Heat are on the same track. So he says he'll stay if we contend, if we don't, then I guess he leaves. Though, I don't get it. Why doesn't he just stay so we can get Bosh next year? I'm sure Bosh wants to play in Miami, and I'm sure Wade would love Bosh pairing up with him.

Riley has already said that he will do whatever it takes to get Wade the pieces he needs to win but how can you do that when you don't have commitment from your franchise player? Riley needs Wade to be here before he possibly trades away the future of our franchise.

Well Riley wants him to sign but he ain't Wade has all the leverage in this extension. He brought Miami only title and in a year later he can just straight out leave Miami if their not contending by that time. So if I am Riley I get to work and bring in Wade some help.

Actually, with the lowering cap, Riley has the advantage. Riley is doing what's best for the franchise in this situation. If Wade wants to play hardball then that's what Pat will do.

Just cause the cap is lower doesn't mean Riley has all the leverage. Wade can easily make max money somewhere else. Riley cannot afford to play hardball with Wade as Wade will leave. If he does leave I expect him to go to Chicago. Back to his hometown. Rose & Wade in the back court would be lethal.

Miami can offer him the most money and in today's economy I think he'll take the most money he gets. As for Chicago, they have to make that Boozer deal in order to have a chance at signing him. I'm not very worried at all.
