Who's taken the ACT?

I've taken both the ACTs and SATs.

Both consist of the same things of course.. the whole language arts and math, etc. I felt the SATs were easier mainly because of the small sections, and they were all fairly easy in my opinion.

The ACTs on the other hand, there's lesser sections, and they all require much more reading and critical thinking than the SATs. I felt some of the questions were a little out there  I barely passed mine with a 19/36 - so I guess I consider myself lucky? lol. Though I took it a 2nd time to get a higher score but I ended up with a 19 again..

If it's reallyyy required that you do the ACTs, then do it. Though it can't hurt to take it for a little experience.

It's not required but I've done horrible on the SAT for whatever reason. Right now, the scores I got won't get me into many good colleges. I figured I'd give the ACT a shot. I mean it won't hurt.

I took it back in high school. I got a 27 on it, if you're more of a math oriented guy then it's pretty easy. The SAT is definitely harder but looked at a lot more by colleges, at least in my opinion.

I just like the fact that you aren't deducted points for wrong answers.

It's just a different kind of test. There's even some science questions on it. Your best bet is to take the SAT first and see how you do, and if you aren't too satisfied with your score then try the ACT.

That's exactly what I did. I took the SAT twice and didn't like my scores at all so now I'm planning on taking the ACT in September hopefully.

I've taken the ACT. Anyways, IF you are good at Math and English you are good to go. I always [expletive] up in the reading one, Science is easy as hell unless you are mentally challenged.

Well, I thought I was good at Math and English but after seeing my SAT scores I'm not sure anymore.

The difference between SAT and ACT is that ACT doesn't penalize you for guessing like the SAT does. SAT is more of an endurance test than the ACT.

What did you get on the ACT?

I'm re-taking it, so I'll tell you then -_- . It's higher than 19, that's all I'll say, sorry to the guy above. It's not a bad score, it was just higher. :)

Huh, I figured you killed it since you said Math and English were so easy.

I did a lot worse on the English than I thought I did. It's the easiest one to study though. I guessed like half of them on the Math one because for some reason I didn't understand most of them, and I got like a 25 on that section, which was pure luck.

I think some ACTs are different, IMO .

So you got somewhere between a 19 and a 25 basically. What'd you get? :P
