EastCoastNiner
It's only the southern NFL fans here that want in the domes/warm weather........ You guys have had it for EVER, and it's the north's turn to get a chance, and there is no better city for it than New York. I understand that you guys want "ideal" conditions, but this is football, and weather is part of the game for non-panzies. Finally, a northern team can have an advantage in the Super Bowl. Phightins
^^Ahem, it will be in New Jersey. :glasses: Lol some guy I follow on Twitter made a good post earlier today. He said that everyone thinks the Super Bowl and Statue of Liberty are in New York, and everyone thinks the cast of Jersey Shore is from New Jersey. We can't catch a break! Same thing pretty much, even though you probably would rather have people not think that. The main attraction for the week leading up will be New York City. Mentch
I'm yet to hear a legit valid reason why the Superbowl in NY is a bad idea... Because the teams from up North basically have a home-field advantage in a game that's supposed to be an even playing field.
EastCoastNiner
Because the teams from up North basically have a home-field advantage in a game that's supposed to be an even playing field. And, you guys play in warm weather and domes for at least half the season, and then play the Super Bowl in the same conditions, so you guys have a major advantage, so you guys should just stop whining about it. I'm talking about southern fans in general.
NomarFachix
Because the teams from up North basically have a home-field advantage in a game that's supposed to be an even playing field. The same can be said for dome teams who build speedy rosters to fly up and down the turf and then play indoors in the Super Bowl.
Jenneral
Because the teams from up North basically have a home-field advantage in a game that's supposed to be an even playing field. As can be said when the Super Bowl is played in places like Florida. There's always going to be a slight advantage to one team or the other regardless of where the game is taking place. Like others have said, some of the greatest games ever played were played in poor weather (The Frozen Tundra!). You want equality? Then it should switch between North and South every other year to keep things even. Who gives a [expletive] what the fans "want". Either way they'll still go to the game and have the experience of a lifetime. What doesn't look awesome about this?
Flash
I'd say the snow/rain is a bigger advantage than playing in the sun wouldn't you? I just think, in the biggest game of the year why would you want to risk the chance of their being extreme weather rather than play it safe in another big city where conditions are more likely to be favorable. Also, LOL @ the panzies comment because people want the game to be played in normal weather.
Warren2ThaG
I love it, can't wait. Players get paid for a reason. To play through anything.

Also, LOL @ the panzies comment because people want the game to be played in normal weather. The thing is, football games are played through extreme weather all throughout the season. Are you saying it's ok for the NFC Championship game or AFC Championship game to be played in snow, but not the Super Bowl? What then becomes the cutoff, make every team in the NFL build a dome? It's silly, weather is part of the game, you can't dictate that weather be completely taken away... I just want to point out that watching a Super Bowl littered with snow would be tremendous television and the ratings would be great... people are going to watch, and people are going to love it regardless. A snow bowl would be [expletive]ing tremendous football... unless you're one of those retractable roof, dome me up pussies. The biggest factor is fans/media not wanting to spend $1,000's and sit in the cold or not being able to GOLF the week leading up. Buy a [expletive]ing jacket and get over it. Football is a sport that is played in all types of weather, why only have it played in a nice weather to make everyone feel as comfortable as possible, that wouldnt be football. Because you wanna see the 2 best teams at their best, not 10-3 defensive struggle because of the weather conditions limiting the teams. Normal weather is whatever the weather is that day. LOL @ this whole no excuse approach because its convenient to use it now that the northeast got the Super Bowl.

His Greatness
You're usually playing in cold weather to get there in the first place. True football is meant to be played in all conditions anyways. If you can't handle the weather then you need to grow a sack.

Phightins
It'll still happen but you cant deny that [expletive]ty weather would hinder some of the things that would go down during the week. The only thing I can think of is that there will be no beach and no golf. So that affects what, a couple thousand (tops) multi-millionaires who probably don't give a [expletive] about football until Super Bowl week anyway? Well, they can put a sweater on and suck it up. For the other millions of fans who will either pay top-dollar to see the game in person, or go to their annual Super Bowl party and enjoy the experience with their friends, nothing will change and really nobody will care. NomarFachix
And the real football fans at home will love it, whether it's a freezing cold game like the '07 NFC championship or a snow game, which is ALWAYS great television. And if you're worried about scoring in the snow, good teams will still do it... The Pats blew out the Cardinals something like 47-7 a couple years ago. lol, Flash, I know Miami did fine, and I'm glad it was in your home city. But, to say it is more able than NYC is ignant.
