High School Coaching

Just wondering if any of you knew anything about coaching high school sports. I feel like this may be something I'd one day be interested in (possibly college as well after H.S.) and was just looking for some info.

 

I know some coaches get paid, how much?

Is a certain college degree required?

What needs to be done before coaching high school?

 

I'm talking sports of basketball and baseball.

I know some coaches get paid, how much? No clue, but it is not much.

Is a certain college degree required? No.

What needs to be done before coaching high school? Nothing really, you have to have good experience with the sport and cant be a criminal. Most of the time to like you to be an assistant for a couple of year first.

at my high school and many nearby schools, majority of the coaches are teachers. but besides that there arent many requirements. just have to be able to prove that you have experience with the sport and can teach it. and no criminal record is probably important

yeah i mean it depends on the sport. most of the golf coaches in my conference are just phys. ed/health teachers are their high school, and no nothing about the sport of golf and are terrible at it. basically they are getting paid to babysit.
