The Regime
The city of Akron, Ohio is organizing a "LeBron Appreciation Day" for June 19. The purpose of the event is to convince James to re-sign with the Cavaliers and "to bring together as many people as possible to send a unified message of support to our hometown hero LeBron James." It is not known if James will attend the event. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/66869/20100528/akron_to_hold_lebron_appreciation_day/

Check my Stats
All these towns going through all this is flattering to LBJ, but pathetic at the same time. He really is the King.
Owner Real Deal Posted May 29, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted May 29, 2010 Make it a top-tier NBA team, and you don't see the desperation as much. You'll still see a TON of support, because LeBron is a superstar player and a key to their franchise's success in the future...but you have to understand that Cleveland is a city ran down by their sports teams. They don't get this type of attention often, let alone the success (if you want to call a 60+ win season successful).
kingfish
I dont see a problem with this I mean LEbron is from Akron and hes the pride of that town so why not.
Cobb
If LeBron doesn't attend then the whole event should be considered a failure.
Newman
So this is an official event organised by the city and not some fans (I am looking at you, Clippers)? If so, wow. Royal treatment, no doubt.
