EA is making a name change on one of its oldest franchise that debuted in 1994 with NBA Live ‘95; NBA Live will be morphing to NBA Elite starting with its 2011 version mentioned in the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine according to Kotaku. NBA Elite ’11 should be hitting the shelves sometime this fall.

According to an EA spokesperson, it’s “time to leave the past behind. We have exciting and significant changes coming to our NBA game this year that will usher in the future of basketball video games,” as the reason behind changing the name.

They are making big changes, taking what they did with the NHL series by making the left stick control the player and the right stick control his hands. It actually looks kind of cool if they do it right.

whoa.. how the hell can they do that with basketball?

Live 10 wasn't bad. At times I actually enjoyed it more than I did 2K10. 2K's game is much better though.

Game will probably suck now though. I remember reading an article that said "Now you can't get mad when someone makes a half-court shot, because it's entirely skill-based." Yikes.
