LeBron: Cavs Have An Edge

Recommended Posts

In an interview with Larry King that will air later on Friday, LeBron James said the Cavaliers have the inside track on retaining him as a free-agent this summer.

King asked James, "Do you lean at all toward the place you know the best? I mean do they have an edge going in?"

"Oh, absolutely," James said.

King then asked if he meant his home team, the Cavaliers.

"Absolutely," James answered. "Because, you know, this city, these fans, I mean, have given me a lot in these seven years.

"And, you know, for me, it's comfortable. So I've got a lot of memories here. And - and so it does have an edge."

James' remarks are the first insight into which way he may be leaning since the playoffs ended.

LeBron loves the attention. I can't blame him for going all out because he's only 25 and this is a big deal to have all this money being offered towards you. Only a month till he can decide. Imagine how much coverage will be around him once the decision is made.

I look at it as every team has a different edge going in. Miami's got the chance at a potential dynasty, Cleveland is his home town team where he's played for 7 years, Chicago is a chance to win and build a contender where Mike did it and the Knicks is a chance to play on the biggest stage in the NBA.

The Cavs have an edge because it's the only city in which he can stay. All other teams including the Cavs would be contenders wherever he goes.
