Make It Naaaashty
Anyone pre-order it yet? Thoughts about the game?
Poe
Well, the game isn't coming out until another 4 months or so, and there isn't any footage or.. any real info that I know of other than the fact that Jordan will be on the cover. So there isn't really anything for us to discuss yet, other than stuff we may hope to be on it. The early commercial is actually showing 2k10 footage. Poe
k then what do you hope to see in this game?Off the top of my head... •A better online system•Fixed bugs in general, especially in My Player mode, and online of course•Remove exploits such as full-court charges, unstoppable lead passes to the basket, on-ball steals (at least a way to protect the ball), unreacting defenses to things like fastbreaks (mainly just a way to make the defense get back quicker), less reliant on "perfect/good/bad releases" in jumpshots and more focus on shot selection (one of my pet peeves of this game is how everybody is so focused on "knowing a player's shot", and to me, it shouldn't matter how long you hold the X button, the increase in your chances of making a shot should be strictly based on selection), and many more things that I can't really think of at the moment•Make using plays, picks, and really some form of strategy a successful way to win in this game. In 2k10, 2k9, 2k8, and so on, the best way to win is to run around with Kobe/LeBron the whole time and dunk on every possession. There will always be some sort of exploits, but I hope that in this game they will be eliminated so much that you actually have to put some thinking into your game if you hope to win. Really, the bottom line here is better defenses. Make it harder to score inside, and easier to stick on offensive players.•Improvements and more additions in association mode. There weren't very many from 2k9 to 2k10 other than adding the D-League•Additions and such in My Player mode as well And that's all I can really think of at the moment. The thing about 2k10 is that it's already really good as is, but it would be damn near perfect had they fixed all these minor problems that add up to a big one all together. Fix the bugs, the online gameplay, and the exploits, and I'm a happy gamer.
The Regime
Here's the commercial they played during the finals. It's not much, but yeah. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3exctX2OdqA
moeroadkill
few things for me..one thing that annoys me is how easily people can dunk on/over anyone it so dumb a pick and pop playpick and roll works to easily tweak the my player make it harder, being able to choose if you play 82 games 52 29 etc..and change the friggen low post offence/defence development make it so its possible to complete

Dunno why they did that for a 2k11 game. Edited June 6, 2010 by Poe
JWaLL
Here's the commercial they played during the finals. It's not much, but yeah. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3exctX2OdqATo clear up anyone's confusion or disappointment in the game, 2k admitted the commercial was all 100% 2k10 footage because it was "too early" to release any footage of 2k11. They still have a lot of work to do on the game unfortunately so we aren't going to know much for a while. Pretty much all we know so far is that they are going to use new servers (thank god) and Jordan will be covering the game. Inside finishes in general are too easy. I'm hoping the next game will require a more all-around approach to winning games, not just dunking and throwing lead-passes in the paint. You can do pick and pop.. just press B (if you are using 360) to get someone to set a pick. It depends on the player tendencies, though. Dwight Howard will never pop, but Dirk Nowtizki will, for example. I completely agree with the my player, btw. Difficulty adjustments, and games/year settings would be nice. And of course, fix the damn substitutions. Pretty much all we know so far is that they are going to use new servers (thank god) and Jordan will be covering the game. I really hope that's true. Man, that's been the #1 problem with the game and only thing keeping them from completely breaking away from NBA Live (or NBA "Elite" now ). That's definitely a huge + for me, although I would never consider buying Live (Elite...smh) over 2k.

Make It Naaaashty
I haven't played a 2k game before, but those of you who have played a NBA Live game, is it easier to dunk in Live or 2k 10?
moeroadkill
live you don't dunk much from what iv played (a few games at my friends house) but the controls are hella gay imo, you have a button to do a jump shot and then you have another for layups. so it looks really silly when you press the layup button behind the 3 line and it goes in

I haven't played 2k 10 so I'm not sure how ridiculous the dunking is in it. And yeah, it's looks really weird when you press the lay-up button when you're shotting a 3. However I do still see a ton of dunking, and some players who should not be dunking in the first place are dunking in traffic. 1 idea is i wanna see techs and ejections!Everyone's (including my own) wish for a basketball game, but unfortunately David Stern won't allow techs/flagrants/fights/ejections in any NBA associated video game. Newman
2K is more serious IMO but Live would be more fun for casual gamers.
Sun Tzu
I will definitely be getting NBA 2K11. I actually liked 2K10 and thought it was pretty good. Hopefully they do fix things such as the glitches and problems that were in 2K10. I have a feeling My Player will be a huge upgrade this year and we shall all get a big surprise

Instead they will do whatever it takes to win, i.e dunk from everywhere with everyone. There is still quite a lot of dunking in 2k10 and I really wish it would be toned down. With the addition of Jordan in the upcoming series, one can only imagine how much dunking is going to be done. My prediction is more of the same, and possibly worse. fish7718
Dunking in 2k = super simple take a super star that can throw down (ie. Wade, LeBron, Durant, Iggy Etc.) If the guy you are playing is dumb enough to stay in man to man after you do this once you can do it all day, isolate 1 on 1, do cross over moves until you get a step on your man and then go straight the the rim and throw down. If he switches to zone shoot 3's until he changes back. Main reason why the Cavs were just unbeatable if you were decent. LeBron is unstoppable 1 on 1 and the Cavs have 3 pt shooters galore if you play them in zone.
Smitty
2k10 on PC >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 2k10 on console. Servers were so smooth for me lol. And plus you can mod the game however you want to. They really need to upgrade the engine, though. While I do enjoy it, it's just too much of the same..while "Elite" makes drastic changes every year now(doesn't always turn out even close to great, but at least they're trying to get better)
