Phightins
Figured this could probably use it's own thread, not sure how many people will be interested though. Starts tomorrow night!! Anywho, most of the first round is still up in the air. Pretty clear that Washington will draft Bryce Harper, the Royals have apparently already reached a deal with Yasmani Grandal who they will draft 4th, and the Pirates have said they will probably take either Manny Machado or Jameson Taillon at 2. Other than that, who knows. For the Phillies, they are apparently going to take the best player available in the first round, and then focus on catcher, middle infield, and left handed pitching in the next few rounds. Dash
Josh Sale has been linked to the Astros and they will reportedly take him if he's on the board by #8.
La Bomba
I haven't followed baseball, but I've heard all the hype surrounding Byrce Harper and he's basically been labeled as the Lebron James of baseball. With Washington drafting him, they'll have drafted two of the most hyped prospects in a while for two straight years.
Phightins
Brandon Workman is projected to be a mid-first round pick. Kind of depressing, since he was a Phillies 3rd round pick a few years ago and they could not reach an agreement.
Cobb
Braves have the 35th pick.

BlueDevil
doubt harper will be catching, heard itd be best for him to move to 3rd or outfield to save his knees and prolong his careerbut for opening night itd look pretty cool

SeasonSeven
I just don't understand how Washington can get the first pick two years in a row? They were the worst team two years in a row. The Lions almost did it in football last year lol.

Jenneral
They were the worst team two years in a row. The Lions almost did it in football last year lol. It's just weird for me since the draft is in the middle of the season. It's hard to realize it since they're playing pretty well so far. In a few years I think they'll be a legit playoff team. I just hope the Brewers go crazy with pitching in the draft.
Jenneral
And like every normal sport, there is no crazy "lottery"I actually like the lottery because it doesn't allow teams to purposely suck and get a guaranteed #1 overall pick. There's some risk to it.

No. It's from last season. They had the worst record in 09 and they get the 1st pick this year. Just like they had the worst record in 08 and had the 1st pick last year. xx.
This is the time of the year when college baseball ends thats why..and they had plenty of time to scout them already, no need to draft them in November and make them play minor league ball anyway. They have this time to actually sign the player which is different in baseball because the player can re-enter the draft if he doesnt sign with the team. Also, it gives the organizations a chance to stick the players in half-season rookie ball leagues. They don't waste any time.

Phightins
It is on MLB Network. Lots of guys sliding. Zack Cox, Josh Sale, a couple others. If Stetson Allie is still there when the Phillies pick, he is my choice.
Phightins
And as soon as I say that, Sale goes to Tampa. Looks like a steal, unless signability will be an issue.

Phightins
I was beginning to hold a bit of hope that Cox might fall to the Phillies....but the Cardinals grab him at 25.
