The Regime
The Atlanta Hawks have promoted assistant Larry Drew to become their next head coach, sources told Yahoo! Sports. Drew has been a Hawks assistant for six seasons and has 16 years of coaching experience but has never been a head coach. Drew had grown to be popular with the Hawks and is a former NBA player. Hawks ownership made the decision following a conference call with team officials. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/67147/20100611/hawks_hire_larry_drew_to_become_head_coach/
Cobb
The ownership was set on getting someone cheap. IMO, hiring within the organization was the right move. Now it all rides on what Joe Johnson decides to do. If he stays we'll still end up being a 50 win team that will continue getting knocked out in the second round. If he goes, we're screwed. Check my Stats
Who in the blue hell is Larry Drew? Somehow I doubt he is better than Woodson.

Not really you guys still would have the money to make a move to get someone is FA. I think you guys actually should move on without him, he did not show up to play in the postseason when it really mattered so moving in another direction would not be a bad idea. Dash
Looks like this hire was all about money. Breakdown of Larry Drew's NBA coaching low salary goes this way, source says: $1 million, $1.5 million, and 3rd year team option for $2 mill -Woj Very cheap contract.
