PayPal Question

I forgot my password to my PayPal account earlier this week. I have like $30 in it just sitting there. I have tried to change my password but you have to answer security questions in order to. For whatever reason I made them something random because the answers I put in don't work. It asks me the city I was born in and the last four digits of my SSN. I'm not sure why I'd put some random city but I made the account a few years ago.

Now the debacle I'm in is that I'm only 17, will be 18 in September. Apparently, you're supposed to be 18 or older to have an account. I was thinking about calling them but considering I'm not even old enough to have an account I figured it would be a bad idea.

What should I do? I've tried every possible password I could think of and every possible answer to the security questions.

lol if you put a city like Denver if you were born in Atlanta, I don't think you deserve that $30.

I don't see why I'd do something like that though. I don't really care about the $30, I just want my account.

I don't think you need to be 18, because you can open a bank account like whenever I think. Also, you'd think they'd restroict you from registering if you needed to be 18 and youre 17

Yes you need to be 18 to *legally* have PayPal.

You can lie on the registration page when it asks your age.

Try going to your email that you registered with and looking for the first email paypal sent you regarding your account. It might have your password, security question and answer on it. If not, I'm not sure. Wait till you're 18 I guess. Or just call and tell them you're 18.

I think that's what I'll end up doing.

So...what'd you learn from this experience?

To write down/remember my important passwords.

Hopefully I'll be able to get the account back then.

Smart kid.

Maybe for your security answer, you misspelled the answer originally on accident. So maybe you added an extra letter or forgot to put a letter in.

I've tried basically everything I can think of. Nothing has worked. :(

What city were you born in?

Marietta, but the thing is I don't know whether I would've put that or the city I currently live in which is Kennesaw. I've tried both and neither worked.

Also, the question about the SSN is the one I think I'm getting wrong. I don't even recall having to put my SSN in before. I've tried both my moms and mine. Kind of sucks that it won't tell you the questions that are right or wrong.

  • 2 weeks later...

Every day I attempt to guess the answers to no avail.

I'm a little worried about calling come September because if I can't get this information right who knows what else I put back when I created the ago. :(
