Where LeBron should go this off-season...

With LeBron James only 13 days away from signing his new contract with a possible new team. I decided to show the best fits LeBron would have with rumored fits. I base all of these based on the fact that Chris Bosh wants to follow LeBron wherever he goes. Keep in mind these fits are in no particular order, but I will post my best fit at the end of this note...

Cleveland- Does the King stay in his small-pond? It would make the most sense for fans of Cleveland, NBA, and Obama has even stated he wants LeBron to stay. Yet can LeBron really win in Cleveland? 2 years in a row LeBron and the Cavs have had the best record in the NBA only to lose in the playoffs. Does LeBron want to stay in Cleveland in a place where they CANNOT sign Chris Bosh. The Cavs would be over the Salary Cap limit, and Chris Bosh would not accept a Mid-Level exception which is roughly up to 6 Million a year. So this would be LeBron's lineup if he stayed in Cleveland....

PG-Mo Williams

SG-Anthony Parker

SF-LeBron James

PF-Antawn Jamison

C-??? (Will Shaq or Big Z return?)

As you can see Cleveland doesn't look to enticing to stay with even if they hire Byron Scott from ESPN.

Chicago- Now the King has a real shot to win the title here. With a strong core of Joakim Noah, Derrick Rose, and Luol Deng the Bulls proved a few years ago against the Celtics that they have a strong will to win. Then the Bulls can easily sign Chris Bosh, and most likely be the best team in the NBA. The only problem is - Does LeBron want to be the 2nd best player in franchise history? He will NEVER be better than Jordan unless he wins 7 NBA titles. LeBron will win 1-5 Championships there and be considered a failure. Does LeBron really want that? This would be their lineup if LeBron teamed up...

PG-Derrick Rose

SG-LeBron James

SF-Luol Deng

PF-Chris Bosh

C-Joakim Noah

Going to the Windy City would be LeBron's best move if he only wants to win, but does he want to be the 2nd best player in franchise history?

New York- This is the most intriguing scenario of them all. LeBron could EASILY team up with Chris Bosh and perhaps Joe Johnson. That would be the best tandem in the NBA, and if that happened it would be impossible for them to not win the EAST and possibly beat Los Angeles. If LeBron went to New York an option in his Nike Contract would vest, and he would be 200 million richer the day he signs. Also if LeBron bought stock in MSG Network he could play for himself because the Knicks are broadcast on that network. The only issue I see is that if he doesn't win in New York he will be booed and hounded every time he sets foot in their city. Does LeBron really want that? Here is 2 scenarios of their lineup- The 1st with Bosh and LeBron - The 2nd with LeBron, Bosh, and Joe Johnson.

(1st Scenario - Most Likely)

PG-Toney Douglas

SG-Wilson Chandler

SF-LeBron James

PF-Danilo Gallinari

C-Chris Bosh

(2nd Scenario-Longshot)

PG-LeBron James

SG-Joe Johnson

SF-Wilson Chandler

PF-Danilo Gallinari

C-Chris Bosh

I think LeBron would most likely go to New York if he could land the 2nd scenario.

New Jersey- Here is another intriguing place for LeBron to go. The first 2 years would suck for him though due to the fact that he would have to play in Newark, but after that he goes to Brooklyn. Aside from the location factors New Jersey would be a championship contender every season with LeBron, but they likely wouldn't win next year. Even with Bosh and LeBron they would have an interesting supporting cast, but the chances of them being better than Boston are slim to none. Here would be their lineup with LeBron and Bosh...

PG-Devin Harris

SG-LeBron James

SF-Yi Jianlian

PF-Chris Bosh

C-Brook Lopez

This would be the biggest lineup in the NBA, and probably the most high-scoring. The only issue I see is that LeBron may not want to play for Avery Johnson or the Russian Mark Cuban.

Dallas- Every Mavericks fans dream could come true if they acquired LeBron, but the chances are less than 5%. The Mavericks are way over the cap (by 25 million) so this scenario is HIGHLY UNLIKELY. The Mavericks would have to trade Dampier, Roddy B, and Caron Butler just for a chance at LeBron. I doubt the Cavs would want to sign LeBron only to trade him which would ENRAGE their entire fan base. I think this is truly a hopeful scenario, but this would be their lineup...

PG-Jason Kidd

SG-LeBron James

SF-Shawn Marion

PF-Dirk Nowitzki

C-Brendan Haywood

This would give LeBron in MY OPINION the best chance to win, but the Cavs would NEVER agree to this in a million years.

Sacramento- ESPN has NOT talked about this one, but the chances are higher than you think. If the Kings moved to San Diego or Las Vegas (Which has been rumored over the past 5 years) then they have a small shot at LeBron. The interesting part about the Kings is...They have the most money, talent, and best owners of any team with the chance to SIGN LeBron. The only issue is that LeBron would never want to play in Sacramento. Here would be their lineup with LeBron and Bosh included...

PG-LeBron James

SG-Tyreke Evans

SF-Omri Casspi

PF-Carl Landry

C-Chris Bosh

This would give LeBron the BEST chance to win of any team able to SIGN him, but he is too foolish to realize that a Bosh, Evans, James tandem would be the best in the NBA by FAR.

If I had to guess where LeBron would go I would say Chicago. I say this because he grew up a Bulls fan, the first person he called after the Cavs lost was Derrick Rose, and he and Bosh like Chicago. Now if I had to pick a place for LeBron to go for the best chance to win it would be Sacramento, but he is too concerned about money rather than purely winning. He says he wants to win, but does he want to give that up for money in major markets? I think not...--STL10

Lol you have Lebron listed as a shooting guard if he signs with the Mavs? Nice...

Yes I do. Shawn Marion is TERRIBLE at SG.

Ok but he's a better option to have on the floor than putting Lebron at shooting guard. Butler would play the 2 and Lebron would play the 3, with Marion coming off the bench.

I meant Shawn Marion. Butler will be a Cav with this scenario.

I dont think lebron cares about being 2nd best in franchise history, he was a huge mj/bull fan growing up. Did shaq care about joining the lakers after all their history? Did Kobe care? I think fans are faaar overrating the whole mj or any star shadow thang. I'm also willing to bet my life lebron would never sign with a small team like Sacramento, if hes leaving Cleveland it will be to a huge market like chi or ny.

If Sacramento is an option, so are the Clippers...and in that case, you'd have to add the Lakers in a sign-and-trade deal, because I think Cleveland would pull the trigger immediately on that.

Possibilities are endless, really, if Cleveland and James are interested in a S&T. I would rule out Milwaukee, Minnesota, and other low-market teams that also have no shot at contending with him...but there are at least 10 teams that could shoot for contention by offering pieces that would attract the Cavaliers, and that includes Bynum.

Clips have money, so a sign-and-trade doesn't have to be worked...and that throws LeBron in Los Angeles, alongside Gordon and Griffin, which would be a major issue in the Western Conference.

Lots of different scenarios, really. I call Chicago, but that may change during or after the draft.

Welcome to the site, by the way. :)

I put Cow Town because he might go there if they move to Vegas. Anyways thanks for the welcome!

Right, but if you consider Vegas as being a reason why he would jet to that particular team, you have to consider Los Angeles, and also New York (and that you did).

I'm really not sure about the Kings headed elsewhere, though...but of course, that's for another discussion. :dribble:

You win unless we get some fool to make JJ Barea a future all-star. <_<

STL10, a lot of the points you made in your post were solid, but my only problem is the assumption that in virtually every scenario Chris Bosh is going to follow him. Guys like Bosh, Amare...we just don't know what their intentions are during this FA. We know both want max money, but after that it's a very gray area.

I really don't think anyone knows where LeBron is going until things start falling into place. For NY, NJ, Miami...more than half the teams' rosters aren't even in place yet, so it'd be stupid for LeBron to already know where he's going or where he should go (unless he's totally sold on the NY mystique, the Bulls roster, or staying in his hometown).
