Beautiful game... great defense by Japan, Netherlands could only get one shot on target. The problem with Japan is their offense, it's not much and only on breakaway.

I put $400 on Netherlands victory, so it took my breath away when a Japanese nearly scored in 88:00 to make it 1-1.

Netherlands also nearly scored to make it 2-0 which would have net me another $90 on my second bet (correct score)... but Jap keeper is pretty good.

Elia was great. This kid is very talented... he created two great opportunities that were not converted.

---

To sum it up, I bet 22 times (19 are scoring predictions), only won 2 times, and both are Netherlands games. Netherlands is my luck this World Cup lol :)

If Netherlands plays inferior opponents, they're almost guaranteed to win, perhaps a draw, but nearly impossible to lose, because they:

- Are very prepared

- Play as a team

- Do not look down on opponents

- Are very organized offensively and defensively

- Play with honest effort and energy

- Have great stamina, especially considering Elia subbing in in second half when the team gets a bit worn out. He replenishes the team's energy by pushing it on offense and pressuring the opponents' defense.

From my observations, those are usually the factors why superior opponents lose/ underachieve in this World Cup, e.g. England, France.

Netherlands does not have clear advantage over anyone talent wise, but they have all these points covered...

Japan also surprises me so far... they should win in last game vs Denmark.

This ref is also very cool... I believe only 1 yellow card but he never lost control of the match, which was fairly physically played by both sides.

Very different from the bloody German-Serbia ref who issued 9 yellow cards and 1 red card. Or the disgraced USA-Slovenia ref.

This ref let the players play... very entertaining.
