Guest STL10
Jaime GarciaJaime Garcia showed up in St. Louis Cardinals camp hoping for a crack at a starting job.Four months later, he has the best numbers on the staff and is a strong candidate to be in the All-Star Game in his rookie season."Everyone talks about Jason Heyward and how he's a lock at rookie of the year," says Cardinals perennial All-Star first baseman Albert Pujols. "How about Jaime? He has been amazing. He's been dominant. Let's wait a bit before we give out that award."Garcia, (6-3, 1.59 ERA through Sunday), had the second-lowest ERA in the National League behind Ubaldo Jimenez of the Colorado Rockies. His ERA is the third-lowest by a rookie in his first 12 starts since the beginning of divisional play in 1969.http://i.cdn.turner.com/si/2010/fantasy/04/16/waiver.wire/jaime-garcia.jpgSTATS:W-L:6-3 ERA:1.59K:66 Walks:35 WHIP:1.24 IP:79.1HR Allowed:2BAA:.216 Jason HeywardAt the game, he’s already astonishingly polished. A budding savant, he already has 11 home runs and 44 RBIs. Not since Albert Pujols’ record-breaking rookie season in 2001 has a first-year player reached double-digits in home runs so quickly. He hit a home run with his first swing as a major-leaguer, then won a couple more games in April with crucial ninth-inning hits.http://swamigp.files.wordpress.com/2010/04/jason-heyward-1.jpgSTATS:AVG:.264HR:11RBI:44Runs:41SB:5OBP:.383OPS:.864BB:42K:64 Edited June 21, 2010 by STL10
Phightins
It's June. Way too early. Also, last year Chris Coghlan didn't get to the Majors until May, and he still won. Probably different circumstances this year because it is a much stronger rookie class, but it is still too early to say one of those two is a lock and count out Strasburg and Stanton (and, to make Fish happy, Ike Davis). But the bottom line is it's June.
fish7718
Ike DavisAfter starting the year at AAA Ike Davis didn't miss a beat after being called up to the majors. He has played excellent defense at first and is one of the main reasons for the Mets turning around this year. He has also hit in clutch situations which already includes his first career walk off homerun. He displays the type of power that will make playing in Citi Field a non-factor for him. http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x310/legacyny99/ExtraInnings/IkeDavis042110.jpgSTATS:AVG:.261HR:8RBI:26Runs:33SB:1OBP:.343OPS:.787BB:25K:56 Edited June 21, 2010 by Fish7718

The BEST ROY class EVER!Yup, even Alvarez who just got called up for the Pirates is a potential canidate. Trere are a lot of rookies getting done in the majors this year I mean this just the NL look over at the AL you got Arretia, Davis, Matusz, Santana, lots of rookies all around the majors. Keeping on the same subject the Mets have 12 rookies in the majors for them this year Davis, Mejia, Tejada, Niese, Takahashi, Igarashi, Valdes, Stoner, Feliciano, Carter, Thole, and theres one more I can't think of
