I thought his stock was falling? Either way the Kings are bluffing badly at #5 they want Monroe. The Pistons and Rockets need to contact Golden State, but not the T'Wolves.

Don't see Houston's motive, really...at least for Cousins. Maybe they see Scola better suited for the bench? Eventually, Cousins will be a better NBA player...could be right off the bat, to be honest, just depends on him keeping that weight off and working like crazy.

Detroit is dangling Tayshaun Prince, I'm sure...but Minnesota has no reason to bite. I don't think the Pistons really have anything that interests the Wolves. We all know Minnesota is loaded at the PG position.

Maybe Rambis will show interest in Ben Gordon, to add a shooter to the triangle. I don't know.

I think Charlie Villanueva would be a good fit in the triangle, but I doubt they want his contract.

Cousins stock rose earlier today after a great workout with the Nets.

Houston guns for the best prospects in the draft every season, I guess they see Cousins as a future star in this league and that is why they are making such a push for him. Morey would have to be willing to let go of the assets that would lure in a Chris Bosh though, could see that happening if they are high enough on him.

Minny would be moving down three spots in the Detroit deal, I could see Gordon and Daye interesting them but I don't think either are enough for #4.

I don't see the Wolves' motivation for either deal unless they are just too good to pass up on.

I don't buy into his hype. The Warriors told him some BS about picking him if he's there at #6. We ALL know that he couldn't handle Nellie Ball. The Kings are drafting Monroe at #5. I would be SHOCKED if he didn't get picked by Detroit at #7.

Golden State would take him, though. No owner/GM in their right mind would pass up a chance to pair him with Curry and Biedrins. There's just too much potential there.

I wouldn't be surprised if Don Nelson was on his way out after the pick, also...assuming the Warriors would miss out on the postseason again. Plenty of Dallas fans believed he would coach the Mavs forever, but that didn't work out so well despite all of the Mavericks' regular season success.

I don't believe ANY hype beyond Wall and Turner, so when I look at Cousins, I see one of the best prospects in the draft among everyone BUT those two. Not saying he's going to be a superstar, but he does have that potential to be an all-star quality player, and no team should disregard that.

It is hard to ignore his comparisons to Derrick Coleman. He could potentially eat himself out of the league like Coleman did. Honestly if I am GS I take Babbitt at #6, but I am just an OTR Member. IMO Babbitt+Curry+Ellis would be a solid scoring tandem in the NBA. Their lineup with Babbitt....

PG-Curry

SG-Ellis

SF-Babbitt

PF-Maggette

C-Tolliver

6th Man-Morrow

Looks like Nellie ball to me in FULL effect.

That Coleman comparison is because of his playing ability, though. Coleman was a monster...came out of the gates dropping 20/10 on elite defensive players because he was so physically dominant.

We can all point to big men and say they can end up like Oliver Miller...that's easy. If we're just talking about his potential weight gain (meaning, what he COULD gain within 3-4 years), I think we're looking at it the wrong way. People were worried about Andrew Bynum's weight, also, and there's also some big, massive center that nobody could stop in the 90's and 2000's, and he had no problem playing at 355+ pounds.

So take that one variable and remove it from the discussion. Cousins is suddenly a freak in the making. Given the fact that he's going to be working with professional trainers and he's actually got enough game to matter in the pros, I think I'd take my chances on him.

I hope he does great things. I don't want it to sound like I wanna wish failure on anyone. I think Cousins has an Al Jefferson ceiling with a Derrick Coleman basement. He is an intriguing prospect...

Cousins = Nene

Big with soft touch around the basket with enormous size and high level of physicality, but with no hunger for rebounding or little detail like boxing out every possession. I smell "inconsistency" from Cousins just like from Nene.

One night 25 pts, 14 rebds, 3 blocks. The next night: 5 pts, 3 rebds, (and here's the most frustrating part at least about Nene) NO FOUL TROUBLE, NO INJURY, PLAYED 32 minutes, and only 5 shot attempts.

Again told Rockets can make trade to move up but package requested is expensive. Perhaps it depends on if their guy is there or not.

Yikes, something tells me that I am not going to like this deal. Assuming the Rockets' guy is Cousins then there is a good shot that he will be available. I have this sick feeling that the trade is going to involve Martin.

I highly doubt that. They probably want Jordan Hill. I mean Kevin Martin is WAY too steep a price for #4.

Clutch said it was expensive and if the Rockets are hesitating on the trade then it means two things, 1) not many fans are going to like the pieces we are going to have to give up and 2) The Rockets view Cousins as a better prospect than Favors and Wesley Johnson otherwise they wouldn't wait to see who will be available at #4. As a fan who closely follows both the Rockets and Wolves organizations, here are a few scenarios that I could see going down and yes the price is definitely going to be steep.

Scenario one:

Rockets key trading piece: Jordan Hill

What could be added: The Wolves have been in the market for young scoring wing for a while now, so I can see a strong push by Kahn to get Chase Budinger involved in the deal. Despite being a mid-second round pick last year, Chase has cracked the Rockets' rotation and according to Morey himself he is better than he ever thought he would be. Chase has plenty of room to improve but his athletic ability and potential will entice the Wolves. Ariza is also another possibility but he's a bit redundant to Brewer and the Wolves might like Bud a bit more. Next the Rockets would include at least one pick but I still don't think it would be enough to convince Minny to do the deal. I think it will be any combination of two picks between the Rockets' 14th pick, 2011 Knicks first and 2012 Knicks first.

Wolves key trading piece: 4th pick

What could be added: Not much, I could see either Ellington or Brewer being added along with the 16th or 23rd pick but other that is about it.

Scenario two

Rockets' key trading piece: Kevin Martin

What could be added: I don't see the Rockets willing to add much to Kevin Martin but Minny could push for the 14th or just one of the Knicks picks.

Wolves key trading piece:4th pick

What could be added: I think its pretty much the same as the first scenario, Houston might want a wing to help ease the loss of Martin. 16th or the 23rd are also up for grabs. I think Minnesota would be interested in this scenario considering that they have been gunning for a Rudy Gay signing for months, but if they could get Martin then it could be just as good.

Scenario three

Rockets' key trading piece: Aaron Brooks

What could be added: the 14th would most definitely be involved in the deal along with Ariza or Chase Budinger. Although Aaron is a solid young point guard, I don't see the Wolves being as interested in as they would with Kevin Martin due to Flynn, Sessions and Rubio. Not sure how Brooks would work in the triangle but I think the Wolves might be interested in this scenario if they like the other pieces involved in the deal like I posted above. They could flip Brooks for another pick (Pacers?) or player in a package deal.

Wolves' key trading piece: 4th

What could be added: Losing Brooks would hurt the Rockets a whole lot so I can see Houston pushing for one of Flynn and Sessions, Sessions obviously being easier to obtain. Depending on what Houston adds, they could add one of their other firsts.

Anyways this was just me being bored and blabbering whatever came to my mind, you don't have to take it seriously.

Scenario 2 and 3 just don't make sense. Martin isn't a triangle player and the Wolves are waiting for Rubio. Scenario 1 will happen if they trde.

Personally I didn't think I was making much sense throughout the write-up, but I agree the first scenario makes the most sense. When I read "expensive" I just thought of our best assets and tried to make a trade out of each of them.

I appreciate the thought you put out. Expensive in my experience means Cheap Quality Young Talent. Perhaps they Kyle Lowry?

If the price is "too expensive" for Houston, is there a chance we're talking Yao Ming?

I guess you guys are high on Kevin Martin. I think he's a loser, to be honest...would trade him in a heartbeat if it meant getting Cousins or Favors.

^I think KMart can't be the best player on a team, if he was, then he is a "loser"... like Michael Finley used to be on the Mavs (before Dirk got good).

But as one piece of puzzle, I think he's very good. And the good thing is he doesn't mind to try to fit in and doesn't have ego and is a good teammate.

I'd trade for KMart to complement Melo... I do think he spreads the floor and can give you barrage of "reliable" scoring when you need them.

Personally I view Martin as our best player going into next season but that is just me.

Kahn has stated that he does NOT want Martin's contract. You can shoot that scenario down.

Thoughts on scenario one? If Houston were to trade for the 4th somehow, that is the only one I see going down.
