Dash
Reported on ESPN. It was Cook + 18 for 32, salary dump move.
Owner Real Deal Posted June 23, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted June 23, 2010 Whoa, nasty deal for the Thunder. They are in a good position now.
Built Ford Tough
God dammit, can't these other teams share the wealth here? The Thunder already had the 21st and 26th picks and now they feel the need to get the 18th as well?
Jenneral
Dang, I thought the Bucks would be getting this pick. Oh well... now let's go for Boston's #19. :glasses:
Guest STL10
Pat Riley is a genius. They'll draft Willie Warren at 32 and pay him the rookie minimum while dumping salary! GENIUS!
Dash
Finally found a link. The Miami Heat have traded the 18th pick in Thursday's NBA draft and guard Daequan Cook to Oklahoma City for the Thunder's 32nd pick, a league source told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher. Cook, a backup at shooting guard, averaged five points and 15.4 minutes in 45 games last season. Link
BlueDevil
so the heat not only lose a play, but they also get a lower pick?i understand this is strictly a salary move, but really couldnt this have gone to almost anyone?i also thought the raps were trying to get another 1st rounder, why wouldnt they offer money to get that pickthis is ridiculous good for the thunder though

The Heat will get Warren at 32, cap relief, and the player they really wanted. The Thunder get a higher pick and a solid role player. Doc
Damnit, I really wanted this pick for the raps.
Flight
Damn, Thunder just keep impressing. Now they have 3 picks in succession that could be steals. I wouldn't be surprised to see these picks packaged for a higher pick.
moeroadkill
awesome get a three point shooter and can he play SF? love the pick means we have a higher change of getting Orton who im really high on been watching interviews and clips of him i hope he can turn into a Kendrick Perkins guy

Should be interesting to see what the Thunder do with their three picks. Do they keep all of them or do they try and package them together and move even further up the draft? If they do keep all three, who do they take with them? This draft is going to be so unpredictable.
Poe
It looks like Riley isn't messing around with young players this year. I like this move. The Heat dump a bad player and his contract, which could ultimately allow the Heat to afford a very good player or players.
